Coiltek 3 kHz DD Digger coil 6 "

Greetings. Anyone running a Coiltek 3kHz 6" Digger? I'm concerned about the depth of this coil. Usually, as a rule of thumb, we say that the depth of a coil is around the same as the width of the coil. So for this 6 incher, we might expect the depth to be around 5 or 6 inches. Right? What about...

DD 3 kHz coil for salt water beach hunting

Grettings y'all. I'm about to purchase a Minelab X-terra 705. I mostly do salt water beach hunting. According to Digger, low freqs are best for high targets such as silver. High freqs are best for low targets, such as gold. Following this, wouldnt a 3 kHz Coil be best for finding coins and...

AT Pro for salt water beaches?

Greetings all. I'm just about to pull the trigger on a new AT Pro. I live on the sea shore here in Mass U.S. So, natch I detect at the local beaches. I have been using a Fisher Labs Gold Bug on the beaches with TERRIBLE results. I only find a penny (make that one penny) every time I go out. So I...

Are the Detech Ultimate 13 DD's waterproof?

Hi guys! The weather is getting nice here in Mass. :beers: I just got a new Ultimate 13 DD coil. I cant wait to try it out. I might actually find something nice. I will post if I do. Just a quick question: Is it OK to use this coil in shallow water? That is, is it waterproof? Thanks, kev :fisher:

Does silver turn dark grey in salt water/sand?

Hi. I have been finding dark grey pieces of metal at the beach. They are not round, but more like broken/worn pieces of jewelry. I have found two pieces so far, both with that dark grey color. And, I almost forgot to mention, they were found with a Goldbug DP, with discrim set at 75, above clad...

    Todays finds at the beach

Hi. I found two unidentified pieces of metal today at the beach with a Fisher Labs Goldbug DP. Both pieces are about the size of the fingernail of your smallest finger. Both pieces were found with the discrim set at 75, just above the clad pennies. So they should not be iron, steel, aluminum...

What is a good way to de-crud old coins?

Hi. Pls forgive me if this question has been posted before. What if someone went to the ocean and found something which might be a coin, but it is encrusted with rust and pieces of shell, etc? What is a good way to disolve that crud? Thanks so much, kev

    Anyone hunting the beaches now?

Hi. There is frost, snow and ice on and in the ground now here in Massachusetts. But I can still hunt the beaches, weather permitting. (Which is not often, but still...) I took my brand new GB DP out for its first day about a week ago. I didn't find much; I am concentrating on learning how to...

Why do G2's cost more than GB DP?

Why do G2's go for more $ than a Goldbug DP? Same machine. Just wondering....

    It's all Greek to me.

From what I gather, any coil that works with the Teknetics Greek series detectors (Alpha, Delta, Gamma, and Omega) will also work on the G2. And if it works on the G2, it will also work on the Goldbugs. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you kev

Technetics T2 Or G2 compatibility with Goldbug?

Hi everybody, it's me again. I'm confused about the Technetics. This is the T2/Goldbug forum, but it looks like Technetics also has the G2. Will coils for the G2 work with the Goldbugs? Thank you, kev

13" Ultimate DD and 15" for T2/Goldbug DP?

Merry Christmas and Happy New TH'ing year. I have a new Goldbug DP on the way. A couple of questions regarding search coils for the bug. First, I see that there is lots of interest/demand for the 13" Ultimate DD coil for the T2. Will this coil work right for my Goldbug DP? Secondly, I just found...

    MXT for gold coins?

Greetings Friends: I would like to find gold coins (only) on the coast here in New England-nothing else-just gold coins. :lmfao: (No deep wading or diving, just a few tidal pools) I think the MXT might have a little more depth than the MX6. Would the MXT be a good machine for finding gold coins...

    Graphic Target Technology helps?

Hi Diggers! I'm a beach hunter. I've probably dug up anything you can think of. (OK, no battleships yet) Quite frankly, I tired of digging up junk. Everything except gold or silver is junk to me. I really grew to hate pennys! :-) Anyways, when Garrett came out with the new GTA technology, I...

    Other manufacturer coils for GTI?

Hi diggers! From what I learn here, the large "pizza" coil aka 12.5 inch coil, is heavy, and throws the unit out of ergonomic balance. Are there any other manufacturer coil options for the GTI? Just wondering. I think something like the Bigfoot might work, but you would be sacrificing depth...

Any diggers tried the 12.5 inch coil with the GTI?

Hi diggers! Has anyone tried the 12.5 inch coil with the GTI? This is the most expensive coil option. If you have tried it, do you get more depth? And does the target size imaging work just as well as with the stock coil? Keep on diggin' Kevin from Ipswich, MA

Fisherlabs 1280X vs Tesoro Tiger Shark

Hi diggers! Let me see if I got this right-Tesoro's Tiger Shark (A pulse induction unit designed for both land and sea, costs $750.00 new. If you want a 10.5" coil with it, add another $165.00 (including the skid shield.). So what's that total? $915.00-new. Now, Fisherlabs has the 1280X, also...
