    Hunting with different coil

I decided to take the double D coil off my Land Ranger Pro, and swap it with the 7-1/2” concentric coil from my Tracker Pro. Both are 7.69Khz with plug-in connector, so there’s no compatability issues. I also went from Coin Mode to All Metal Mode, and took the LRP to three places I have hunted...

    Another hunt with Ohio Fred

With days getting shorter, me and Fred only had less than an hour and a half to hunt a local skate park. Fred more than doubled the amount of clad that I found, and is loving his new White detector (No, I don’t remember which model) with small coil. This place is riddled with trash. Anyhow, we...

    Hunting after hunting

Went squirrel hunting today and leaned the LRP against a tree to hunt an old dump I knew of in the woods. The squirrels were well hidden in all the leaves, so I leaned the Varmint pcp against a tree, and hunted the dump. This woods is pretty heavily hunted, so it’s not unusual to find spent...

Hunted a skate park today...I’m officially a detector!

Almost a 2:1 Trash to Treasure ratio, but that’s because of all the skateboard pieces parts. The highlight of the hunt was my first marble, which was in a coin spill of three coins. From what I’ve read and seen on videos, finding a marble is a right of passage. Uploaded at Snapagogo.com

    City park Sunday

Got out this morning and hunted two parks for a little more than five hours today. 32 pieces of trash, and 44 pieces of "treasure." The most unusual find was what appears to have been some sort of keychain jewelry or a part from a Porsche automobile. Not sure what it is, but maybe one of you...

    Very nice "Wheatie."

Emptied my finds coin jar into the aquarium gravel tumbler with some Dawn and a couple of pumps of Zep Heavy Duty Orange Hand Cleaner, and let it tumble overnight. I was surprised to find this exceptionally nice Wheatie in the batch. Most pennies are nasty dirty when I dig them, so I don’t even...

    Love my schoolyards!

Hit two schoolyards today after the school day was over. Uploaded at Snapagogo.com

    Monday finds

Went to a park I hadn’t been to before, and only spent about two hours hunting. I was very surprised at how little trash there was, and even more surprised to find a spent 9mm Luger shell casing next to the walkway for the picnic pavilion. It was right in the grass roots barely below the...

    Sunday & Monday finds

Two days of digging, Sunday in a local park, and tonight on a school property with Ohio Fred. Nothing here to make anyone rich or famous, just adding to the coin count. Uploaded at Snapagogo.com

Big silver foreign coin at "Penny Park."

I’ve nicknamed this park "Penny Park" because of the volume of pennies I find here. Here’s yesterday’s finds with basically a 1:1 Trash to Treasure ratio, which is pretty darn good, IMO. I did come across one coin spill that offered up 8 pennies!

Tesoro’s Tiger Shark coil cover question

I was getting ready to go on a hunt, and decided to take off the 8” coil cover to clean under it. It was a little tough to remove it, and there was moisture on the cover. I wiper out the moisture and small amount of fine sand, then put the cover back on the coil. After about ten minutes of...

Back to the playground with the Tesoro Tiger Shark

I headed back to a school playground that I’ve worked several times with Ohio Fred, and had a pretty good night. The "quarter"on the right is actually a Chucky Cheese token. I didn’t realize that until after I took the picture and tossed the trash in my newly started trash bucket. The jelwery is...

    3.6:1 Trash to Treasure ratio

I’m going to start tracking my trash to treasure ratios. Hunted a closed elementary school playground that was worked over by a bunch of slobs. They really trashed a large section of the mulch with garden shovels. As they turned out their giant plugs, they just left the plugs lay on the...

First coin drop with Ohio Fred

Today I bought a ten year old Tesoro Tiger Shark from a fella upgrading to a different machine, I got to test it out and it functions 100%, and the cosmetics are a solid 95%+. I got in touch with Ohio Fred and invited him to come for the maiden hunt on a playground at an elementary school...

    Got my Bluetooth wireless gear.

The mailman finally brought the Rx/Tx Bluetooth unit today, and I was able to mount it to the LRP. The headphones came Saturday. Mounted it with hook-n-loop so is can still access the battery compartment. It’s temporarily plugged into the LRP with the 1/4"x3.5mm adapter from my good stereo...
