OK Fisher fans, who wants to speak up

about the T2/F-75 vs the Edge/Coinstrike for coin hunters? I have been using a borrowed T2 for a couple weeks and it is making some great coin finds for me but, I am digging almost every iffy signal in the iron to get them! Solid locks of course are very rare in these conditions with any...

    A few T2 finds

The weather finally broke a bit the last week or so and I was able to get out to some of my local sites with the T2. One of the sites is my iron infested backyard.. which you can imagine is pretty heavily hunted. Two of the IH's, the sleigh bell and rabbit charm along with numerous bits...

    Any ideas on this one...

    Posted on another forum.
flapper or damper ??

    Could the Coinstrike...

be kept alive by First Texas? I think so! It is a solid high performing detector with very few quirks. For many the advantages outweigh the disadvanages. If it really is a low volume seller and in peril of being discontinued why not give it an upgrade instead? A few needed revisions made...

    F4 field test

For those that are interested Andy's field test of the new Fisher F4 is now on-line. A good read that answers quite a few question one may have on this new detector. Tom
F4 field test

Xterra 70 3 Khz coil for trade for DD coil...

Want to try out the 7.5 Khz round DD coil for my hunting. Anyone interested in a trade for the LF coil? Coil used about 12-15 hours and is in excellent condition. Tom

    More fresh water finds..

Got the 2 mens rings this morning at a county park on Lake "X". They had worked their way DEEP in the sand barely giving a tick in the audio. The smaller ring is yellow/rose gold and marked 10/12K and the pendant is 14K. These 2 came from a couple different lakes over the past week. GFTG...

    The streak continues...more bling!!

Went out wading again with the 70 this morning. Planning on only a short hunt I gave it up after about an hour of wading the shallows at the public access I mentioned before. There were few targets to be found. Fortunately, on the way to the car I decided to make one pass directly out from the...

The lake gods opened the vault for ole Jackpine this AM.. 2 silver & 3 gold!! :jump:

The forecast was for low winds and clear skies so I hit the water early today. I have not been doing much wading this year as I hurt my back a while ago and am just now starting to feel close to 100%. Figured I better get with it as the summer season is about over up here and see what goodies...

    Big silver at the beach!

The gold seems to be hiding on me this summer. But I did manage the heaviest piece of silver jewelry I have ever found this morning.

24" long and 75.4 grams :yikes:

Took the X machine wading today....

I did some shallow wading with the X70 in one of the lakes in my area today. This particular spot is where an old fishing resort used to be. There are still a couple foundations and short sections of sidewalk visible in the brush. It is now a DNR access site for launching boats and boaters...

Tried out the beach mode at an iron trashy land site today....

and boy was I pleased with the results! Hit a lot owned by the city about 3 blocks from my house on the main street of our small town. I do not know what used to be there but it is full of nails and other old iron debris. So much iron that if you have -6 and -8 notched out the threshold on...

    Time to ..

Kick it up a Notch !! The GB that is. I have always had very good luck hunting in moderate iron by letting the XT-70 track along on the GB. However, something Andy mentioned in the field test of the Exterra 50 came to mind and I thought I would go ahead and try it on the 70. After ground...

Hitting the hills for a silver fix...

Abandoned ski hills that is. Struck out in the water today so Rick and I went to a nearby abandoned ski lodge and spent some time on the hills. It was hot in the baking sun and we didn't last long but it was time well spent. Here's the silver...

    Threshold and volume settings...

Here's how I set mine: Threshold on the X-T 70 set at 5 with the volume control on headphones (Koss QZ-99's) adjusted so that I get a very slight hum with barely audible nulls, volume control on the 70 set at 28 so that surface targets are comfortable with no loud blasts. Just wondering how...

How many of you X-T 70 users...

make use of the adjustable threshold and volume controls to optimize performance as shown by the graphics in the manual? For instance the other day with the volume set at 22-23, threshold at 3-4 and headphones (Koss QZ-99's) adjusted to a comfortable level it "seemed" to help make the shallow...

    FYI X-Terra 50 vs 70 iron handling

FYI for you X-T 70 users, for best performance in iron (and if you want to match your buddy using the 50!) you need to turn tracking on when hunting in and around iron. You can easily verify this by checking some iffy signals from targets co-lcated with iron by switching tracking on/off and...
