    F2 vs F4

I get many e-mail asking about the F4 vs the F2. What can the F4 do what the F2 can't ? Is it worth the extra money ? Here is what the F4 has over the F2: 11" DD coil (deeper, more ground coverage, better in bad soil) Auto Tune All Metal Mode with ground balance: This mode in...

F2 vs other higher priced detectors....

Today i thought about what i would have to buy to get a better detector than the $199 Fisher F2. I went to the pages of the other companies and it was eye opening what i found out. Lets take the F2 vs the Garrett GTAx 500. The 550 retails for $499 (street price $425), twice as much as the F2...

    Fisher F2 FAQ.....

    1. I have no rubber washer for the lower rod. Are they missing ? A: No, rubber washers are just not needed and the lower rod fits very nice between the coil "ears". 2. Is the F2 made in China ? A: I have personaly seen the machine that makes the 8" coils and I've seen many people working in...

First day out with the Fisher F2....

I went to a lawn at a high school today and hunted a part of the lawn that i hunted before with many detectors using larger coils (8" and 11"). Today i thought i give the F2 with the 4" coil a try. It was to easy, just press the power button and adjust sensitivity to max and that was it. The...

    More Platinum Info.....

It does not store the last settings. It is lighter and better balanced than an Ace 250 from Garrett. It think it is the lightest display detector available today. It does not work with the other bounty hunter coils. It hits my 9 inches deep buried test dime with a clear signal. That is very...

    Tip of the day...

Do not use JE mode if you have to set sensitivity lower than 40 to keep it stable. That would be the same as using high beam in fog and going just 10mph, because you can't stand the reflections. Better go back to DE mode and use higher sensitivity settings. It works better the other way...

What i learned about (small) coil prices....

Thanks to all your good replies. I got my eyes opened why some (small) coils are more expensive than others. Here is the summary: 1. Companies that have the coils made outside the US have to pay lower prices because the person in the country ( China or others ) may just get a fraction per hour...

    Bad Fisher F4 reviews......

I checked a detector review page a few days ago and found two reviews for the Fisher F4 on this page: F4 reviews The first reviewer gave it one star because First Texas took the first F4s back because of a problem. Well.... isn't it nice that a company corrects it's mistake ? I'm glad they did...
