    Quattro with extras for trade

    Just got this detector, I'm used to the Explorer so I am looking to trade for an Explorer SE or Explorer 2 in good condition. This detector is in good condition has the sunray 8 coil and the X-1 probe and I have the Mastering the Quattro book.

    My first find of 09

    Took the SE out today, using the Double hammer technique I penetrated the frozen ground. After a day out pulled out this wheat and this St Mary's I think its silver, it showed like a dime and came out just as shiny and was real deep.

    I was reading the article about the pro coil and Andy had stated he was running ferrous instead of conductivity so he could tell between a good sound and a large hunk of iron deep. How does running in ferrous achieve this? I understand that the high tones run to the right instead of up and down...

    I have been looking into getting a sutable alternate to the stock 10.5 inch coil for my SE. now the choice is between the 11inch pro coil or the Platypus coil 8.5" x 11.5" any sugestoins in the difference. Benifits and draw backs? thanks for any info.
