    F75.....a little info

I have learned a few things about the new F75 I'd like to pass along since they may even start shipping before March 5th. This is an exciting time and seemingly worth the wait... 1) The number system is far different than the T2. It's 100% rescaled to provide greater resolution to the...

    New finds & new Sites....

No these are not OLD pictures. I did get out this weekend on a scouting mission. VERY cold, but a friend & I hiked a remote section of forest along a river I was sure must have something in it. It was a long hike of about 4 miles total. Things looked bleak until mid-day we finally began seeing...

Chalk one up for this guy.......

Someone sent me a web site featuring an amazing "3d chalk artist" who works on city sidewalks.... I thought I'd share some here related to detecting, as they really fool the eye. Remember this is just all chalk on flat sidewalks...no 3D props.

    Old vs. new detectors.......

I have always wondered what kind of detector this guy is using? An early Fisher or perhaps a homemade thing? Compare that to what we have now.....even the "fantasy CZ-3D" I thought was cool :)

Anyone read "Research After the Find"?

Tony will probably enjoy it as I touch upon orphanages in it even :) Anyhow, just got my W&E magazine yesterday & this probably sounds stupid, but the first thing I always do is read MY story first before anything else. See, magazines edit several words & sentences and I wrote that like a year...

    First photo of me detecting....

My dad, when they moved, gave me a dusty box of stuff that was taken from my late Grandfathers house. My grandfather is the one that hooked me on detecting in the late 70's. In the box was a bunch of old slides. I had held a couple up to the light and saw weird buildings & stuff & they sat in my...

Update: Interesting info on Flying Eagle.....

After someone pointed out my saying 1857 was a "first year" small cent was incorrect. I did a little research & got some interesting info from Coinfacts.com...... Actually it can be debated, as yes, there's an 1856 small cent, but it's considered an unauthorized "pattern coin" much like the...

T2 hits "coin spill" in iron....

I hooked up with John this weekend as he has wanted his own shot at some "Irish Shine", the rare button featured by Mark Parker in the new W&E magazine. His ancesters were Irish immigants, & I also wanted to return to the area for several reasons. One to take photo's of the nearby cemetary...

    New Fisher Repair info....

Thanks to Paul in Maine, here's some valuable new info in case you need a Fisher repair.....Looks like one should call or e-mail first to get an "RA #". >>>>>>>> If you are having problems with your Fisher metal detector, I do suggest you send it in to the factory for repair. However...

    C$ disc in thick iron....

If I can get out at all this weekend, I have been thinking about trying the C$ in heavy iron with the small coil again. Most of the sites I have available to me now are sites that have been hit, but hold small coins & buttons amid the iron. This recent silver "HB" ring & 1799 1/2 Reale I posted...

No one happened to mention my 2 buttons in W&E?? ;)

Since I'm the last one to get Western & Eastern magazine, I figure someone would have let me know that I had 2 buttons & a story in the new Jan. 2007 issue ;) Oh well, it was a nice surprise as this baby made the cover... [attachment 44846 RevCutterBootin.jpg] Speaking of "shine"....this rare...
