    Finally earned my wings!

I dug this out of a old orchard farm yard and was wondering if anyone knew what kind of pilots wings these are. I found tons of similar types in the Net but not like this one. Maybe just a toy?

    No Clad Today!

Finally! something "unique" to post. Don't get me wrong I like finding clad but I'm not gonna waste my time, or yours, with details about my day with nothing to show but a bunch of brown coins drying on a paper towel. But when things pop up like these. It's worth posting. [attachment 53102...

I killed a hour today with my old Ace250 today

Hey guys. I haven't been posting too much lately. I been swinging my Sovereign GT mostly. Looking for the deep silver. I found quite a few silver dimes but only one silver quarter since I had it. Hmmm. Anyway today I only had a hour to detect and decided to take the Ace 250. I forgot how fun...

Took Ol 'Blue for a swing today....

First place I went to was where a old farm house stood up to few months ago. They tore it down so I just drove right up into the old driveway and started detecting. Way too trashy and weedy for the 10 inch coil. I think a 5 incher would be the way to do it. But I did manage to pull out a relic...

    Meter readings

Do you who have the Digisearch 180 meter find that most trash targets readings bounce around, and the good targets readings are solid for the most part?

Alright! Adams Success leads to My Success

So Adam's post this morning got me all wired up to do some hunting this morning. And I have a new meter for my GT and haven't taken it out yet since I got it several weeks ago. On the field I calibrated a quarter to 180 like the forum said. I had to recalibrate the meter a few times also. I kept...

    Sacramento Area Detectorist

So which of you guys all live in the Sacramento area and when's a good time to all meet up for a pot luck lunch? I'll bring the chips and dip!

    Just recieved my Digisearch Meter....

....for my GT. I know a real clean spot to calibrate it too. I'll just toss a few quarters on the ground and dial her in to 170 as the detector's manual says. Right?

    Keeping Ace250.

Thank You all who offered to trade. But I decided to keep the Ade and just bid on a camera on ebay. Happy new year!

    Snagged a Rosie today!

Went to Folsom lake and basically decided that it's a terrible to hunt. Theres just too damn too many old fashion pulltab beaver tails over there. So when I set the disc up to near max thier was nothing to be found then. So I headed back inland to the picnic area where I could see tons of thash...

    For ken and marg

I came across this post on another forum and it broke my heart. It may have made its way to this forum already but I don't have the time right now to research it. I think these folks need our prayers to be able to deal with this problem right now more then anything else. God Bless Them.... "oh...

So it's raining! Go on! Get out there!

I drew this one like after 4 days of streight rain last year. I know. I should be doing research for new locations to go hunt but that involves studying and work and well....I already have paper and pen.

Hey! I found another gold ring yesterday!

It was just a small 10k gold ring but still.....Gold is gold. It reads right there at the nickle range on the ACE250. I actually found it with my GT but since that only talks to me in tones (that's gonna take me years to master) I always check my finds to see where they read on the ACE250...

    A hunting I did go!

Instead of just reading about it on the forum I decided I was definitely going to do some hunting today before work. Seems like something always comes along to ruin my plans, or I just don't feel like it. So I hit a newer park in the hood knowing I wasn't going to find any old coins there and...

Remember that "First Best Find" of yours?

Jac's thread got me thinking about the first few weeks of my detecting career when it seemed like the only thing in the ground was cents and pull tabs. My first best find worth bragging about came several weeks after I started detecting. It wasn't a silver coin but a silver ring, along the side...

    T2 for my GT?

No way. Not me. But if anyone wants to help this poor, repentant guy here's the link to do it. He want's to trade his T2 for a GT. http://www.thetreasuredepot.com/cgi-bin/classifieds/classifieds_config.pl?read=89785 Hmmm. cant seem to post the link. Doesn't matter anyway. Who would be so...

    Most recent finds

I went to one of those parks that every detectorist goes to when there's no where else to go to this weekend because I didn't have anywhere else to go to. And like the only good targets were pennies. No dimes, nickles, or quarters. Just pennies. So everyone who hunted here just ignored all those...

GT Confidence grows at Carmichael Park (Calf.)

I went to a old city park clear across town with my trusty GT today. I was only finding pennies and the usual trash targets. A lot of the usual trash. Now I know this goes against the rules of professional MDing but I decided to crank the ol' discrimination all the way up and hunt in that mode...
