Found some more gold this weekend. Well, my wife did.

I wanted to go metal detecting today but the little lady said we had to watch the grand boy and work in the yard. Fine! So I'm at he far end of the back yard and she's digging weeds out of her precious rose bed by the patio. About a half hour into she asks me if I ever detected the backyard. I...

Everyone should have a Bandido 2 uMax.

I can't say enough good things about this detector! It's deep....great coil selection.......light... And it's fun to use......Why would Tesoro discontinued such a great detector? God only knows! I...... as a self proclaimed metal detector expert with 5 whole years of detecting under my belt...

The Vaquero Passes the Depth test !

Looked like 7 to 8 inches and what a releif. This was with discrimination turned on. Cranked all the way it did get choppy. A 1983 clad quarter in spectacular horrible shape. It was so hot out there....And I had just a little sleep but I forced myself to get out there and explore the Vaquero...

    First hunt with Vaquero....

Yawn......Nothing exciting to post. Depth wasn't too impressive but maybe I just didn't go over anything deeper then a few inches. It ground balanced easy enough once I found a area free from metal.. I need to create a test garden here at my house. Dug a plug about 6 inches deep at the park...

    My New Vaquero has arrived......

Okay!! I'm going with the VQ!

Ordered it from Richard of Backwoods and it's the second brand new detector I ever bought. (Oh oh! i forgot to ask if it comes with a coil cover) I'm just so hyped up about getting a shiny brand new detector again! Always getting used ones..... First a Musketeer Colt. Then a Toltec 100. Then a...

Thought I snagged a goodie here but no markings on it! Still what a thrill when i saw it in the plugged hole! Couple rocks missing. Another sign of a cheapo.

Will I notice much of a difference in depth with the Vasquero over my Bandido2 uMax?

How about the Tajon. Or... Should I save my money and just invest in a couple extra coils for my Bandido?

    Tejon & Vaquero owners...

I own a bandido 2 uMax right now and think it's awesome. But it's the only detector I own and i think i should get another unit. Well I just can't decide. I hunt mostly parks and school yards. And sometimes I will venture out for some relic hunting.....but not often. I don't want a meter so I...

    Interesting air test...

I did some air tests with my Bandido and discovered a interesting effect a broken ring had on the detector. The Detector would only respond when the ring was under one side of the coil. Which explains why my pin pointing was so far off from the target. Coins and complete rings responded...

Scored a little gold again today.

I took the Bandido for a real test hunt today. First to a old air force base's football field where I found lots of nickles and keys. Mascard1 was hoping to meet me there but I guess he couldn't make it. After about 3 hours there I headed off to a park before I had to get my son from work. A...

    GOLD!!

Everybody's favorite subject! I took the Bandido that I paid way to much for to Lake Havasu with me while visiting Pop. It was really windy and I knew the little lady wouldn't put up with it for very long. I never detected there and the shore line at the area I was at was rocky and hard to dig...

    Attn Regular Lake Havasu Hunters......

I'm gonna be there hunting between the 21st and 25th..... Not trying to muscle in but to get to know my new detector better. Dad lives there so I'd thought I'd give it a try while I'm there visiting. So don't kick any sand at the thin guy with a beard using a Bandido this week. Say Hi to me if...

    Got My Bandido Today!:detecting:

Well after inspecting and taking it out I'm not so regretful for what i had to buy it for! I'd say it's about a 9.5 on the scale. The party i bought it from has taken very good care of it. At the park is performed very well and yes. I'm impressed with the depth the little brown 8" coil gives...
