I have been out detecting 4 times since I got the pinpointer.I really like it.It is more sensitive than the one I had from Whites. It really speeds up my recovery of targets.I used it yesterday to recover an old gilt railroad uniform button in rock hard gumbo clay at 5 inches without damaging the...

What metal detecting Juju's do you have?

My main detecting juju is I have to put my digger back in it's sheath after retrieving a target.Caring the digger in hand blocks the finding of silver coins until the digger is sheathed.I also have to wear headphones to find silver coins. My neighbors and I were laughing at our superstitions...

I have some real strange ground,it has magnetite and alkali. Both iron mineralization and salts. In some places the ground is snow white from the salt mineralization.Certain places I hunt the coin ID changes.Pennies can come in as dime and sometimes quarters, dimes hit as pennies a lot,quarters...

2500 is a nickel getter deluxe

I'm still learning the 2500.I've found that it hits nickels pretty hard,in my soil.I'm begining to be able to distinguish the difference in nickels and pulltabs by the quality of the sound.I have some hearing loss, too many years of shooting big bores with no hearing protection.I still dig all...

I hunted the police dept. side walk.

After Cwilks post about his experience I went into town and hunted the sidewalk between the police dept. parking lot and the school teachers parking lot. There are 2 narrow strips of grass about a total of 4 feet wide and 100 feet long.I was amazed at all the clad in the ground in that little...

Used my new 1350 for the first time today

I had 3 detectors delivered by the Brown Truck yesterday an Infinium,1350 and an Ace 250.Took the 1350 out to a couple of school playgrounds.I really like this detector. The sizing feature works different than the 2500 but it was real accurate.I hunted in factory coin mode but turned down the...

    Favorite places to hunt

I don't have near the experience that most of you have on this forum have.In my limited experience, hunting by swings in parks and schools are my favorite, most productive spots. Not necessarily just under the swing but out in the grass where someone would jump off and land. These places have been...

Lessons learned with the GTI 2500,so far

I haven't had my 2500 all that long but I really like it.The imaging, sizing, has helped me not dig big trash ie aluminum cans.I found out that not all dimes hit as dimes, some come in as pennies. Some pennies hit a notch or 2 below the penny notch. It hits nickels really good.I dig very few pull...

    Got strange signals on coins

I went out for about an hour and a half in this 94 degree heat with the 2500.I hunted some playground equipment. Not much there.I had a problem with the signals from coins.Pennies came in as a low tone, not a belltone. Some of the dimes hit 1 or 2 notches below pennies and didn't belltone. One dime...
