    A few from Sunday

I went back to an old school which dates to around 1900 which I am sure has been pounded many times before. Thing is if you go slow and easy you'll always find more. The V nickel is a 1905, the sound and numbers were horrible but I usually dig ANYTHING iffy. There was a couple of war nickels...

Sneaky ring tried to hide in the nails

But it was no match for the Explorer with the tiny coil. I'm not sure what the stone is yet. It was bent pretty bad, but straightened up nice!

It cooled off enough to get out...Finally!

Old homesite that I have been to many times. Used the 3.5" to sneak these out from the nail infested area. The small lock was cut off of whatever it locked, I'll bet there is an interesting story there.

A bit of nostalgia for you Civil War collectors

As I was digging around in the attic I found my collection of Civil War News cards from 1961. These were illustrated by Norm Saunders who also did the Mars Attacks series of trading cards along with many others as well as Stag/Mens adventure magazine covers that we all had hidden away as teens...

    A few from the weekend

I only had a couple of hours to hunt so I headed to an old school. The token is a Green River Whiskey advertising token from the 30's, The Merc's are 1917- S and a 1945, I thought the cross was a junk metal but I found the .925 stamp on the back. Not shown were a half dozen Wheaties that alway...

Only got out for an hour this weekend but...

Did manage a few nice items. A war nickel, std service button, sterling St. James medal, a buckle and a bunch of wheaties not pictured, and of the wheaties there was a 1910, a 1920, a 1930, and a 1940. Odd finds in that order.

Didn't find any Easter eggs but I found these

I got out for about an hour on Saturday and decided to hit an old school yard with the Sunray 12 coil attached which is great for covering large areas. The finds were the usual 6 or so inches deep. The Disneyland token is a heavy piece, The ring is silver too! The flat button was found yesterday...

    A cool old find

But it would have been cooler if it was filled with change from the era it came from. Read a steady 8-12 on the screen, that's why you have to dig it all!

    A headphone-less hunt

Nothing worse than getting out after work to a spot only to find you forgot.......your headphones. Since I only had about an hour to hunt anyway, I decided to stay. Boy, talk about feeling naked! Every little noise was a distraction right down to the coil brushing the leaves on the ground. I...

Anyone hear any more about that Meteor that was shown on the news the other night?

It hit somewhere in Washington state. I figured folks would definately be looking for pieces based on the value.

    Yesterday's hunt with the 6"

I was able to try the 6" high frequency coil for the first time yesterday since the weather was nice enough to get out. I decided that although the 6' was a bit small for woods hunting it would be perfect for some tree stands out there. I'm sure most of you already know this but for new users...
