A bit of info for you all

I can't remember how many times guys found one of these coins and wondered what they were. Well, here is how they came when new in 1953. There is a Bio. of each president on the back. When you dig them up they are tarnished brown and look super old! Sunoco also did a similar set in the 60's...

The ground wasn't frozen so it was time to hunt!

Out to a colonial dated farm field this weekend. A few nice coin finds this time around and a few buckles along with a large 1.25" flat button. Nice to be outside in a tee shirt in January!

Well I finally finished it, and just in time for the COLD!

I found an old A2 Flight jacket at an estate sale last summer like my dad wore during WW II. My dad was a gunner in a B-25 in the Marine Air Corp and since he passed away when I was 12 I never found out much about his plane, or if it had any nose art. As a former graphic artist I always...

Here is a tip for you guys and gals,

Some of you may already know this, I had never heard of this. Go get your dullest knife, you know, the one you don't use anymore because it's so dull. Doesn't matter if it's a straight edge or serrated. Now go get a ceramic mug out of the cabinet. Flip the mug over and run the blade at an angle...

Neat photo I had never seen

31 A test nuclear explosion codenamed "Baker", part of Operation Crossroads, at Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands, on July 25, 1946. The 40 kiloton atomic bomb was detonated by the U.S. at a depth of 27 meters below the ocean surface, 3.5 miles from the atoll. The purpose of the tests was to...

I suppose I should post some finds once in a while

Instead of just joking around with everyone here. These were dug at an old homestead over the course of the last couple of weeks that dates back to the 1700's There's always a variety of things to dig up at places like this. I'm always amazed at how many small lantern pieces I find! The...

These would be fun to own.

Believe it or not these guys drove down main street in a town nearby. Don't ask me how they knew how to keep them straight but they did, They stopped and got out to rescue the guy in the water with the floating red Quad. Pretty amazing. These are NOT stuck, they are just stopped. Oh yeah....did...

Three interesting things happened here in NJ in my lifetime

All within a week of each other. First, Irene was only the second hurricane ever to make landfall in New Jersey. The other one was sometime in the 1800's. Second, I experienced the strongest earthquake felt in NJ last week. and Third, Maria opened a new selzer bottle slowly and for once...
