Snakes In The Hole And Silver Too :detecting:

I thought I'd get out and do some detecting this morning in this beautiful mid 50 degree weather since I took yesterday off to get ready to go to a football game. I started out with the F75SE with the Sharpshooter coil (tones 4H, 85 on sensitivity, 7 on discrimination, boost mode). Right off I...

Fisher F75SE :fisher: Well I Didn't Get Stunked :detecting:

After getting a late start, I managed to get in a few hours of swing time in today. The 1947 Rosie gave a bouncy 81-84 VDI reading. I didn't know what to expect with those numbers. I know that I had my coil over or near the spot where I found the Rosie several times. Apparently, I was...

Tesoro Tejon/Cibola :tesoro::usaflag: Both Score Silver :detecting:

I haven't been doing much detecting lately, so thought I'd give it a swing today. I decided to go back to the virgin site that now has been hunted to death and dig all iffy signals to see what turns up. I found a lot of trash but did manage to find several wheat pennies ( 1936, 1920, 1944, 1926...

Tesoro Cibola :tesoro::usaflag: Hillside Silver :detecting:

I've been out of town on a fishing trip and I couldn't wait to get home to do some dirt fishing. It's a lot more fun. You can't tell from the picture that the 1956 Quarter that I found was dug on a steep slope. I had trouble keeping my feet under me. The quarter wasn't but a couple of inches or...

    Garrett AT Pro:garrett: Silver Everywhere.:detecting:

I hit a couple of different locations this morning to see what I could unearth. Right off I found a 1941 Mercury Dime near a shrub bed. It was surround by some nails but it give off enough of a high tone to make me investigate. The next silver coin that I found was next to a sidewalk was a 1950...

Tesoro Vaquero :tesoro::usaflag: Headphones Makes A Big Difference:detecting:

I hit a ole site this morning with a hunting buddy. The weather was near perfect. Taylor was swinging a Deus and had already found a Indian Head Penny by the time I got there a couple of hours later and then found another one and a five cent token later on. I finally found my first wheat penny...

AT Pro :garrett: I Was In Silver Heaven Today:detecting:

But I couldn't find one single silver coin. I went back to the area where I found the 1906 Barber Dime a few days ago to see if I could find some more old silver coins. I dug and dug and the only old coins that I found were Wheat Pennies (1940, 1944, 1954, 1920, 1957, 1952, 1941, 1950, 1944...

Tesoro Tejon/Cibola:tesoro::usaflag: A Little Of This And A Little Of That:detecting:

We got a little rain and I decided to head back to the ole virgin site to see what I could dig up. I started out with the Tejon with the 8 x 9 inch coil and right off I found a 1934 Buffalo Nickel that was around 7 inches deep. All the Wheat Pennies that I dug today at this site were 7 to 8...

War Nickels Are All Over The Place With VDI Numbers

I have a 1943 War Nickel that shows a VDI number of 59 (modern coke pull tab) and a 1944 War Nickel that shows a VDI number of 72 ( almost zinc penny). A nickel on my G2 has a VDI number of 57/58. Does anyone know what causes War Nickels to have that much difference in VDI numbers? Both nickels...

Tesoro Vaquero :tesoro::usaflag: A Tale Of A Tail :detecting:

Beaver Tails that is. I marked out a10 x 20 foot area to detect. I wanted to see what all that I could find in that small area, so I started digging. It was mostly beaver tail pull tabs and screw caps. Maybe 2 or 3 clad coins. I got tired of that so I left there and went back to the ole...

Tesoro Deleon :tesoro::usaflag: 22 SILVER COINS :detecting:

That's how many silver coins that I've found in 6 short hunts at a site that's about the size of a double tennis court. I also found a couple of silver rings, around 80 wheat pennies and no telling how much in clad coins. I'm almost certain that this site has never been detected before I swept a...

Tesoro Tejon :tesoro::usaflag: Digging Deep Today :detecting:

I decided to give my Tejon with the 8 inch doughnut coil a little swing time today. I haven't used it for awhile and it takes a little getting used to, because it has a language of its own. It's audio is totally different from the Vaquero and Cibola but it really gets after those deep nickels. I...

    Tesoro Cibola :tesoro::usaflag: Pink Tootie

I went back over an area that I hunted earlier in the year. Right off the bat I found a 1941 Mercury Dime. It wasn't all that deep either and nothing was masking it, so I don't know how it ever got missed. I also found a pink Tootsie car, a car wash token, and some toasted wheat pennies (1952...

Tesoro Cibola :tesoro::usaflag: Nickels, Nickels, Nickels:detecting:

I went back to the ole virgin site that I've been hitting lately to see what my modded Cibola could find. All the easy stuff has been cherry picked, so I was digging all targets that had some depth to them that sounded halfway decent. I was amazed at how many deep nickels that I dug today. Seven...

F75SE :fisher: Giving The Virgin Site Another Going Over:detecting:

I've been over this small site with the AT Pro, the Tesoro Vaquero, and the F75SE and I'm still finding silver. A total of 15 silver coins, 71 wheat pennies, and some other neat stuff. It's hard to hunt out a site, even if it is only about the size of a double tennis court. Today I found 2...

Tesoro Vaquero :tesoro::usaflag: Mopping Up :detecting:

I went back this morning to a virgin site that I have just recently found. I've posted about it in another forum. It's about the size of two tennis courts. So far in 3 hunts I've found 13 silver coins, 1 silver ring and around 65 wheat pennies. There's more to be found there but I'm going to...

F75SE :fisher: Back To The Virgin Site :detecting:

Well it's not so virgin anymore. I pulled 4 silver coins and a bunch of wheat pennies from it on a prior hunt. That's a total of 11 silver coins in two hunts. It looked like there for awhile that I was going to get rained out but the storm went to the north of where I was detecting. Most of the...

Fisher F75SE :fisher: Virgin Ground :detecting:

I woke up early, but I messed around and didn't get to the site until a little after 9:00 o'clock. I've really been dragging butt for the last month or so and haven't done much detecting. I figured that I needed to get out and do some swinging to loosen up a little. I've been eyeballing this...
