    How to pick a spot - salt water beach?

    I am planing my first MD trip and need some pointers. Wish to detect in water - beach is not very good option for time period (few days)... Do I choose sand bottom of bay or rock / gravel / mix bottom? Snorkel or long scoop will be method for recovery. There is no big change in tides over here...

    Aluminum milk jug as a backup scoop

    I am searching for alternative / backup scoop material for DIY sand scoop. Closest thing is this 10l - 2 gallon milk jug made from 2mm thick aluminum.     GOLD ring, Silver galore and more!
