2nd choice beach in contention for 1st choice.....

Found this ring at the break-line in 3 feet of water. It has been made smaller and repaired but still a looker! No karat marking but suspect it was removed when it was resized. 12 grams. $6 in quarters, making it $11 in quarters over 2 hunts of the same beach. High surf advisory is up so I...

    Excal comes through again!

I went back to my 2nd choice beach to see what else the high surf had exposed. I was busy. The watch is not marked but I suspect it is 14Kt. The face fell apart and is in pieces in the foreground. I suspect that part was gold-plated steel. The rest of it is definitely solid. Weighs in at...

    Luv my Excal!

I knew this was going to be good as soon as I heard the tone...... 8.9 grams of yellow and white 14K.

Still no necklace but this was my compensation...

Looked 3 hours for the rumored gold chain yesterday. Nothing. Went to a different beach today to see what the recent rough surf had churned up. 14K white and yellow gold, 8.9 grams.

    Small 18Kt ring

A small (1.8 grams) 18 Kt ring was the major take along with a silver butterfly on a copper ring, a silver toe-ring that's seen better days and a sleek Hot Wheels car.

    A ring-a-ding-ding

Got a tip from a local fisherman about a lost, heavy gold chain. Friday the 13th...gotta give it a try. Went where he described and began to search the area very slowly. Got a quarter signal but this is what came out of the scoop! 14K and a hefty 9.7 grams. Just my size too!

Went looking for a necklace and found a ring instead

    Mixed signal on the Excal

The wristlet came up with a pulltab. It was an unusual signal so I scooped it up. It is HGE but a nice piece. I always dig anything I am not sure of. I also am sweeping the stick slower. About 6 seconds for a 90 degree arc.

    A little glitter...

Out today for the 3rd time this year. Next to nothing on earlier hunts but today was fruitful. In 4 feet of water. The sand had been moved around so I was finding a few coins too. The ring is copper and the bear shaped thing is an earring. I am also swinging slower. About 6 seconds for a...

    Silver day

Found 2 silvers. The ring is marked 950. About $2 in change. Water was cooler than usual. There was shrinkage!

    I've hit the wall....

Out the last 2 days to test my new battery. The battery works fine but there wasn't much out there for the scoop! $2 in coin and a waterprrof watch that wasn't waterproof on Monday and $2 in coin today and that was it. I will wait a couple days and hit the beach again.

    I got the fever....

Went out again today to my 3rd choice beach. I was not finding anything but aluminum so I changed to the opposite side of the beach and found the 10K bracelet. The dolphin bracelet is thinly plated and the ring is very corroded silver. I will have to see if I can survive until next week....

    Another beach....

Went to my 4th choice beach today for a change. I am not crazy about it because there is a lot of clay-like mud and it wreeks havoc on my excavator. It was good to me though with a 14k wedding band weighing 5.6 grams, a 925 earring and a 925 wrist bracelet. The other rings are of dubious pedigree.

    Not humted out yet...

When I started hunting today, a couple of the regulars told me that there were 2 detectors in the same area yesterday and that they had cleaned the area out. I guesss they missed a couple. The gold band is 18K (4.5 grams) and the 925 weighs in at 6.5 grams. I did find a 1957 Wheatie, which is a...

More evidence that the Irish invaded here!

Went to a different beach for a change of view and, hopefully, luck in that my Friday return trip to my regular beach didn't amount to much. It was a little rough but got a couple decent pulls. A 2nd Celtic ring (from a different beach than the 1st) and a 10K ring with 14 (probably) Cubic...

Sick and tired of being sick and tired...

Finally shook the chest cold that lasted over a month and got out today for the first time since November 4th. :puke: Had to relearn my "ear" but was able to dig a few items out. The most interesting was the copper ring at top which appears to have been covered in gold leaf, which flaked off...

    A little glitter...

A mixed bag today with an 18K charm, a gold bracelet, a silver bracelet, a silver earring and a silver toe-ring.

    Celtic ring

Friday's hunt turned up a 925 ring and a gold earring. I think the design in the center of the ring is called a triskelion and is Celtic in origin, with Celtic knots to either side. This one is going into my personal collection. Kind of "Lord of the Ring" ish.
