    polar plot on spectra v3i

Neil, Thank you for the attached pictures. My experience has been the same and at depths equal to what you indicated. Screwcaps are very easy to see in Polar plot. They are random semi-circular patters due to the iron content and will overlap in more than one quadrant. As you noted, coins are...

TX Boost...Do you use it often?

My experience with Transmit Boost is as follows;Running Magic's program, on targets that the VDI is spurious, jumping in a range of VDI numbers, I found that Transmit Boost did aid in narrowing down the range of VDI indication fluctuation, helping make a decision to dig. In those cases the...

    V3i

Larry is spot on! Difficult to master, yes. I came from a line of Whites programmable detectors. Eagle Spectrum, then XLT, then DFX and now the V3i. I also received some "hands-on" personal instruction from Magic so that helped me learn the V3i quickly, however I still from time to time need...

    :clsoedeyes:Gotta know about the Spectra....

If money is the object you might consider an MXT Pro, but get the 10" DD coil. Also get a 4x6 or 6x10 DD coil or both. I dont own the MXT but everyone talks highly of them. Since you are retiring , purchasing the V3i might be the last detector youll ever need! Talk to your local Whites...

    :clsoedeyes:Gotta know about the Spectra....

There is no detector made including the v3i that will completely or even 75% of the time decipher pulltabs, foil and such for you accurately and consistantly. With all of the features the v3i has over any other detector on the market you still have variables to contend with, such as: 1)whole or...

    January Finds

Sweet finds Ron. That nickel does have double rim doesnt it. Anyway, congrats on the silver and others. Magics program is all I use any more, great, great program. How was the depth with that 5.3? There is a large park close to where I work and I too do the same thing as you. Still find silver...

    For all u V3 folks

The functions of the V3 that sold me to want to spend the money were: 1)3 frequency target analysis for a more positive I.D. 2)3 frequency pinpointing to further assist in target I.D. 3)the ability to audio silence any single or group or mixture of VDI numbers(not descriminate out, but audio...

Need program help for hunting iron infested sites

Magics program is definately the way to go. I have worked some old homesites with my DFX that would just drive you crazy there was so much iron. With Magics program on my V3i I now only hear the 'ticking" sound when it encounters iron targets I have set the tone to 5 as Magic suggested. Much...

My daughter lives in Cincinnatti and I on occasion have detected in her yard with my DFX.I have not had my V3i very long but plan to take it with me to do some area parks or get with someone in the area to hunt together when the weather gets warmer. Would be glad to entertain that...

    DFX-V3i

The DFX while a very good detector is not in the same league as the V3i. I do own both and the DFX served me well and is still my back-up detector. The V3i has more depth and is infinately adjustable. That feature alone makes it completely customizable to the soil you hunt and the conditions of...
