    Muddy, mucky mess...but I got out.:detecting:

Looks like spring is finally here. It's been in the 40's and 50's F the past few days and looks like it will continue in the 40's for at least a week. I couldn't dig very deep (1"), but still had fun and learned some more about my X-Terra. Used the 5x10 DD HF all day. Many different...

Too cold to detect...so I build

Made a stand to keep the detector out of the dirt better. I might have cut too much off of the T that snaps onto the shaft. I'll probably have to redo that part. Camo Form tape around the shaft. Trying to keep the paint nice. And I sewed a ballistic cloth sheath for my Ames digger.

It warmed up to the upper 40's F today, so I took advantage of it. Couldn't dig very deep, but I was able to get 3-5" down in the washed gravel of the school and park playgrounds. I mostly stayed in C&T mode, 99 tones, Sens 15, auto tracking. Switched between Pattern 1 and All Metal often...

FINALLY...I found something with my 70:shrug:

I've owned my X-Terra 70 for one month. Yesterday, I actually found something with it. A small metric bolt. WOO HOO!! Found it right on top of the ground under a covered picnic table area. This doesn't mean that my 70 isn't working....it beeps at me all the time. It's just that...

THANKS from new X-Terra 70 owner

This forum is BY FAR, the single best source of information on the X-Terras! Thanks for the FAQFAQ! and everything else. Once I learn the machine on coins and whatever...I intend to hunt for meteorites. (YES...I know my chances of that actually happening in Montana.):look: What I got: barely...
