Found my first silver coin this year Guess where.

I was out relic hunting this past weekend and had found a few bullets. I put them in my pants pocket as I went along. When I got back to my car and emptied my pockets I had the few bullets I found along with a silver Washington quarter. I got it in change somewhere earlier :)

2nd Time out found a few things

I took the XS into the woods today for the first time. It went well and I learned a few things today. One is, everyone who said I shoud get a pin pointer is right! I dug most of the bullets at about 9 inches and was using stock 10.5 inch coil. I wasted a lot of time digging craters trying to...

    Pinpointer and Relic Hunting

How many of you relic hunters think the pinpointer probe is needed for relic hunting? I would think since most of my relic hunting is in the the woods or in fields that I could do with out it. NO need to dig small plugs. Ive only been out with the Explorer XS once and used an 8 inch coil. I...

    Coin Beach Delaware

Has anyone on this forum hunted this area? I went there years ago and found one of the copper coins but if I didnt know what this place was known for I wouldnt have known it was a penny. It was unreadable, in very bad shape. I also found a SL quarter and a ring at the time. It was after a...

    Battlefields Being Cleared

Heres what has been happening all too often here in Virginia. Its the site if a major battle that backs to the National park. I know we cant save it all but I sure hate to see it go. The woods they are clearing has miles of old road beds, earthworks and rifle pits. Ive found maybe 30-40 bullets...

    Coinstrike vs 1266 in depth

Ok here is a question for those of you who have used both of these. My take on it is they are about equal but I was looking for other opinions. In GOOD ground which goes deeper or are they equal? Im talking relic hunting in good ground. I know the Coinstike has many other features and can find...

    Artillery Shells with the Coinstrike?

I have yet to find a shell with my Coinstrike but I have found them in the past with my 1266. Can someone here tell me how the Cointstrike will react to a burried shell? I know the 1266 would give me a good signal. It would give a good signal even with a large fragment. Im not sure if the...

    Good to Be Detecting Again

I havent been detecting much in the last year or 2 but have started going out a lot more lately. I have to say I STILL like the Coinstrike. Took me a little while to get back into the groove though. Ive been out to a CW site 3 or 4 times and have found I guess around 30 bullets and the last...

    ID Edge Attn: Bill

Bill, I have a question. Is the ID Edge the detector you brought down here to Virginia a while back? I have a friend who just got one. I thought you said it was based on the Coinstrike but I just ordered a large coil for my Coinstrike and he also ordered a large coil for the ID/E. They arent...
