    Got out with my friend Florian today, we started on a plowed field then moved to a grass field. We had a good hunt and Florian found his first gold ever in the form of a 333/8K man

    I cleaned the 1723 silver coin. It is from Bavarian King Max Emmanuel (1662 - 1726). Cleaned up well and is in very nice condition. A tedious clean up job of picking with a toothpick and short dips in a liquid silver cleaner. Here

    Weekend finds 24 Feb...

    With my wife and kids away on a ski trip this weekend I was able to get several hours of detecting in. Hunted two new fields in hopes of a new site but they were both full of trash and no keepers besides two crusty coins and a button. Also hunted the field where I found the gold coin last May...

    The weather was beautiful and sunny all weekend in the 50sF/10C. Detected about 8 hours, mostly on this field below where I have found my oldest coins. Did not find any silver, the XLT sucked it all up but left several other relics, many targets were masked by iron and it is amazing how well...

    I had to restart the XT70 3 times today, what's up with that?...
