First ring and wheatie of the year

Went to an old Elementry School for a while today with someone I met detecting in the park last fall. I managed to pull a 1945s and a Jr Fire Marshal ring. Then went to the park and found a 1941 Canadian cent. My detecting buddy was using an etrac and found a buffalo nickel at the school and...

    Couple hours in the park

Found 1 Quarter, 4 Dimes, 3 Nickels, 3 Pennies, 1 Eagle and a bunch of Aluminum. I was concentrating on digging more Foil to Nickel readings today in hopes of a gold ring, but no luck. The Eagle came in dead on in the Nickel range. It was 45 degrees and no wind so a pretty nice day to get out...

How often are new Detectors released

Since just getting back into detecting again this past fall I have familarized myself with all the new models. When I stopped detecting I think the XLT was Whites top of the line and they had just release the Quantum series. I see a lot of new models by Whites and Minelab etc.. so it has been...

Santa made a visit to my office

The past couple of months had been tough for my family. In October, my wifes sister passed away from a PE at age 52. We had to travel from Boise to LaMars, Iowa for the funeral. That was expensive. Then no more than a day after we got back home, my wife suffered a stroke at age 41. That was...

    Teknetics detectors

The T-2 and the Fisher F-75 look a lot alike. Is the Chassis made somewhere and then the electronics are installed by Teknetics and Fisher? How do the Teknetics Detectors compare to say Whites, or Fisher TID machines? I have never heard of Teknetics until I came to the forum. Dan

    One of my Favorite Finds

I found this in George Iowa back in 95. It's one of my favorites because I can just imagine the poor kid that lost it and how much candy this would have bought. I also like the fact that the phone number was only two digits. I wonder if any of the old timers on here remember those days. Was...

Setting Sensitivity on 6000 di pro sl

I pasted a response from one of Monte's posts below on the SL Pro. Do you set the signal balance in the GEB Norm mode or the GEB Disc mode while the coil is on the ground? Before I establish a Ground Balance I will set the Signal Balance control as high as possible while remaining stable. Do...
