    What causes....

I remember when learning my xlt that Jimmy Sierra had said thatwhen detecting certain ground, too much transmit power could cause a "reflection" so to speak and cause problems. How do I know what ground this is. Will the same happend with the V3?

    What causes....

Went to a new spot on Monday to hunt civil war relics. As I do when I get to any new spot, I dig every positive signal until I get a feel how the detector is working with the ground at this location and how much trash there is. And good I do. My first swing after turning on the V3 and ground...

    Deep Targets

I thought about putting that exact advice but had left before I could edit. I've found that to be true and have been trying to perfect reading what the machine says so I don't miss anything. As it stands now, anything questionable I still dig.

    Deep Targets

I've had where a good target and a bad target that has been discriminated out are close to each other. For one reason or another, the pinpoint will pinpoint toward the bad target more so than the good causing me to dig in the wrong direction. In your case it sounds like there may be something in...

    New offer from White's

Got my answer. I called whites directly and they said they are no longer sending that out. The current special is for the "santa pack" but the detector has to be purchase between certain dates...and of course I already have had mine for months. Guess the early bird gets no worm on this one...

    New offer from White's

Are they still giving out the coupon? I got the kit in the mail today, though I haven' been home to check it, but my wife says there is no coupon. Is it hidden by chance?? :surprised:

    Deep Targets

I use a 2' spade from Tractor Supply Company. $15 and it's going strong after a year of hard use. I can actually make a neater hole in a yard with that tool than I can trying to dig one with a leshce!

Target Probe and/or Pin Pointer Question

I had an inline for my xlt. I did like it but after I got it and used it for awhile, I decided I wished I hadn't spent the money. It does discriminate, which is good, but also bad. Imagine one of those nasty iron targets that actually read goodwhile in the ground. Yes, that happens sometimes...

    22.5 vs. 2.5

I run the 7.5 for relics as a single due to it's picking up lead/brass etc better. It sure works on a 10" deep penny better than the other freqs...and better than 3 combined.
