Just got 5.3 coil from Whites

I'm able to run my d2 up to 15 quite a bit depending on location but I have some trashy areas that I'd like the smaller coil for. Soon!!!

Just got 5.3 coil from Whites

Nice! I'm kicking around the idea of getting a smaller coil....

    Location

Me too... Live near Gettysburg...and believe it or not, good places to hunt CW relics are HARD to find!

    Power usage in menu?

I do that just so I don't get noise. Seems with my coil facing "forward" instead of down, I often get extra unecessary noise. I use a set of sunray headphones though so I have no wireless battery concerns.

Whites Spcetra V3 or Minlabs Etrac

I skimmed this topic but think I got a gyst of what its heading toward. New technology doesn't mean that certain types of finds will increase merely due to that new machine. One must still hunt in the area where these finds would be, and more importanly EXIST, and secondly the machine has to go...

Every sweep you make over the target, no matter how much you may think it is the same...is slightly(or way) different. Size is judged by the sweep speed set up in your pro options. The "humps" will vary with how the detecting field contacts the target on each sweep. If you could do it exactly...

Who is getting deep (coins at 8 inches) and how are you doing it?

The V3 would not, by any means, be a "mistake."

Spectra V3 EMI Note and Question

I've found that in my test garden gain adjustments can and will affect depth. But better to hunt an area with lower gain than not to hunt it at all.

    Recovery delay

I turn mod off so that shouldn't be an issue with me. Though it does explain what was happening when I DID use it!! Are they going to fix the manual and send out new copies??

    Recovery delay

Great..I've been doing it backward :ranting: Larry, I had just gone back to where this was discussed last time...I read it wrong...thanks for clarifying.......again!

    Recovery delay

The way your showing the delay numbers, its telling me the higher the number, the more delay. Thats opposite of what I've been told on here. I was told smaller number, less delay. Still confused...if that was true, wouldn't deep silver have a low number instead of a high number??

The V3 is a battery eating machine!!!

oh ya, I turned by backlight down to 1. that helps!

The V3 is a battery eating machine!!!

there is a setting in the advanced to change the battery types. I don't know if it is applicable in this instance to your batteries, but might bear looking at. I'm guessing it has something to do with how it reads them?

    What does this mean?

my penny at 10" buried in the yard comes up with squiggly lines each and every time

I think I had first mentioned the correlate mode a good while back. Not sure why it would help, but the last time I tried it there was no difference. In retrospect I was hunting single frequency then and that option isn't available with single. :surprised: I've found that the electric fence...
