    Salt Token

Thought this was a neat find. Hard to imagine that the symbol on the back was for luck.

    Civil War Dog Tag

Thought I would share a find that I made while Relic Hunting in Suffolk. It is a Civil War dog tag lost by Edward McEvoy, Union Soldier, Co. E, 96th Regiment, N.Y. Volunteers. I also posted the find on metaldetectingforum.com. The fine detector users helped me research my find. This is what...

    Interesting Badge

Since the weather is so bad I thought I would post a picture of an interesting find. It was found on Effingham Street in Portsmouth. It is bronze and measures approx. 3" X 1-5/8". I guess it is from the time when there were street cars instead of buses. I probably won't find many of these in a...

    Help identify this button

Was checking out my older finds and came across this button found in a field in Suffolk. Does anyone recognize it or have any idea if it has any collectible value. It is in great shape as you can see from the pictures. Thanks in advance for any help.

For those of you who wonder if the Bounty Hunter Discovery 3300 will work on the beach here are my pictures of the first time hunting with it at Virginia Beach. I found the unit too unstable to use in the wet sand, it might be my lack of experience using the unit. If there are any secrets that...

    Great VA Beach Day

Hit the ocean front again. The weather was GREAT !! Still waiting for the GOLD, but will settle for what the dry sand will give up. The wind has been blowing the dry sand toward the water, bringing the hard base close to the surface. Even found a wheat penny this time. I found the cheer leader...

Another beautiful day at Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Decided to try the 60 block today. Couldn't believe I found a parking space within 50' of a portable john.:clapping: Searched the dry sand again. The beach and the weather were BEAUTIFUL. The trusty old GTA1000 still keeps plugging along. If this keeps up I might break bad and get a detector...

Beautiful day at Virginia Beach oceanfront

Spent a beautiful day with a detecting friend in the 50 Block at the beach. Hunted the dry sand and feel beat (in a great way). No great finds to report, but had the kind of outing that makes life worth living. Can't believe this December weather and being retired to detect during the week...
