A few keepers from my last two hunts:clapping:

I got out twice to a local park this week, that everyone has hit forever. I have never got anything old there, but recently got the 1904 city maps and was looking at them wondering where people would go and have a picnic. Right off the bat, I got a silver Rosie. Hunted a while more and got two...

    Club hunts silver and gold

Yesterday I went to my first organized club hunt. The local chapter of the GPAA holds an annual hunt in several different categories and they were all fun. This is a planted hunt, so don't get too jealous of the finds. First hunt was the claimjumpers gold nugget hunt. We each got a 12"x 20"...

Had a few first and need a little help.

I went back to a park that I found the 1906 Indian head penny, and a bunch of wheaties. I found my first ever Mercury dime!:clapping:I found this military button and don't know about it or how to clean it. What is the best way to clean something like this without damaging it? I lightly scrubbed...

Old hunted park gives up a few keepers!:yo:

Lately my hunting partner and I both feel like we've been missing a bunch of old coins. I see all the posts on here of deep old coins and decided that I needed to concentrate on depth. We both mostly use the 6x10 DD coil, and decided to put our stock coils back on. We hunted a park that we had...

    question about coil depth comparison

Hey all, I am trying to decide on another coil for my M6 to increase depth. I have the 6x10 DD and use it primarily, but am looking at the round 10"DD from Whites and the 10"DD Excelerator coil. Does anyone have any experience with either one of these coils? Any help about the depth would be...

    Warming weather gets silver

Had another warm day today, and the treasure bug has been itchin, so I went out for a quick hunt this evening. Detected the outfield and found some modern clad right away. This is my third year with my M6, and I have found thousands of coins, but today I found my first half dollar. It's a modern...

Cabin fever motivates me and the M6!!

Well here in Montana it has been frozen for quite a while and I have been making due looking at all of the great posts from all of you. It warmed up a bit today and I had a little window of time to get out and do a little swinging. I went to a local park that I have been to many times before...

    A little beach help please?

Happy holidays all and thanks for all the great posts to look at! I am a metal detectorist that lives in Montana, and am going to visit family in Florida for the holidays. I have a Whites M6, and mostly hunt coin and jewelry shooting. I am interested in taking my detector to the beach while I...

First gold on a two ring day!

I went out yesterday with my brother for a short morning hunt and sure am glad we did! We hunted an activity field near a local high school for about two hours. We were both finding the usual modern clad when I got a signal that was just as a penny. I sure was surprised when I dug this...

    First silver coin!

I've been detecting since march with my M6 and until this weekend had yet to find a silver coin. My brother (MXT Owner) and I were invited to detect at a house in a nearby town that was built in 1904 and was a brothel for some time. I have been hunting with him on several occasion when he has...

5.3 Eclipse or 5 in. Excelerator?

I am looking to get a smaller accessory coil for my Whites M6. My main hobby is coin/jewelry hunting. Does anyone know the difference between the two regarding depth and target separation? Also, is the 5 in. Excelerator coil a cocentric design or DD design? Thanks to anyone that can help!

    M6 finds rings!

Only had it two weeks, but hunting in the frozen ground with the M6 has produced much clad and my first two siver rings! Can't wait to see what it does when the ground thaws.

    Maybe MXT looking at M6

I'm looking at possibly buying a Whites Matrix M6. It seems to be very similar to the MXT, but without prospecting mode. Prospecting is not an issue for me, is there many other advantages to the MXT for coin-shooting and general relic hunting? thanks, jcooking

    X-terra 50 Vs. Matrix M6

Hello all, Have been reading some very helpful posts on each of these detectors. I am new to this hobby, and have used friends detectors a few times, and it is time to buy my own. I will be using it primarily for coin shooting and general relic hunting. I think I have it narrowed down between...
