    I'm Back!! (Ratther long...sorry!)

Well, I have been gone for awhile and I don't really know why I've been gone!! During the school year I work at the Hewitt-Trussville Middle School as a School Resource Officer. So, I do have some time to check the Forum, but for some reason I got out of the habit. This summer I have been...

    I've been MIA

Hello, everyone, I guess ya'll noticed (or maybe you didn't!!) I've been MIA from the Forum lately. I've been fighting congestion in my head and chest since the end of September and just haven't felt like making time to check in. In September I went to the doctor and he listened to my lungs and...

    You might be a redneck...

you have to place a cigarette lighter under your headset plug to receive a threshold tone on your detector and then use duct tape to hold it all in place!!! Placing the lighter in the correct spot: [attachment 44143 122706006.jpg] Check to see if the tone can be heard in the headset...

I went detecting for a little over an hour today. Mostly Memorial pennies, a few dimes and a quarter all clad except

for one very abused 1935 Mercury dime!! It looks like the dime was hit by a lawnmower or something because it has some slice damage.I found the Merc early in the hunt and I thought I was going to do really well! Unfortunately, it was the only older coin I found! There was a lot of interference...

James and I hit some of the housing at the fort today...

We got a late start and really didn't do that well, but did make a few finds. I got a bunch of clad, but only one wheatie and no silver. I did find an insignia and three whatsits! James got the only silver and I am sure he will post it soon. The insignia: Whatsit #1: Whatsit #2...

Went detecting today with James and had a great time.

This morning I had to help with traffic control for a 5K run that my Church sponsored, and James had to work at the job site. So we met up around noon and went to the park where our Th'ing Club (Warrior Basin Treasure Hunters Association WBTHA)held our annual hunt two weeks ago. We searched the...

Warning; Long Post Ahead!!! This post is a little late, but I started it last week and after typing a long time I messed up and couldn't get it back

I am a member of the Warrior Basin Treasure Hunters Association and each October we put on the Deep South Treasure Hunt. This year was the 33rd Annual Hunt and was held last weekend (Friday 10-13 and Saturday 10-14). On Friday night we hold two "fun" hunts; Relay Hunt and Wingo Hunt. Both...

OK, this one is going to be a little long and I apologize, but I need to get this off my chest!!

The last couple of weeks have been...unusual, to say the least. It started with me and the High School SRO (School Resource Officer) being taken out of the schools (I am assigned to the Middle School)and reassigned to Patrol. The reason for this action was because we have had 5 officers retire...

An update on James' condition. He had the tests today and the doctor told him he did have a heart attack, but a little different kind.

Apparently James was born with his aorta too close to the outer walls of the lobes of his heart (I hope I understood this right when James explained it). He has had a problem all his life if he gets too excited his chest starts hurting. The reason is when he gets excited the lobes of his heart...

I should have posted this last night, but as you can see I didn't. I received a telephone call yesterday afternoon

from James in Alabama. I had talked to him Saturday morning and he had not gone detecting, but was going to wait until after the Auburn - LSU game was over. I didn't hear anything from him Saturday night or yesterday morning, until he called yesterday afternoon. When I realized it was him I...

This post is way behind the times. I made these finds Sunday before last at a local State Park.

The place has been really busy this year with a ton of folks swimming each of the three times I have gone there. Most of the swimmers are Hispanic (go figure!) and wear a lot of jewelry. I didn't really get that many hits even from trash, which really surprised me. I went once in the morning...

Well, I am back from the Gulf coast!!! I returned home last Friday

and have been trying to get back in the swing of things since that time. I have not had time to check the Forum since before I left. I did make a few replies on some of your posts, but of course, they are behind the times!! We had a good conference [The Alabama Association of School Resource...

In case you good folks (and even you not so good folks) haven't noticed, I haven't been on the board lately.

I've been on vacation this week and I have worked my tail off around the house!! I have not had a chance to get on the forum at all...in fact I haven't even had a chance to see what ya'll have been up to before posting this. I have had to try to get everything taken care of...grass cut...

I had a busy and enjoyable weekend. Saturday I met James and another friend, David, at the military training grounds

we have been hunting for the last few months. I enjoy getting out and detecting, but sometimes with a partner like James it can be also very frustrating...he finds silver and I find junk!! Easter was also very enjoyable...an awesome Church service and then lunch at my parents' home!! Then...

Yesterday I hunted with James and Eddie! I had a good time, but didn't get as many goodies as last week,

but I think a lot of that had to do with me looking for new hotspots and not focusing as hard on detecting as I should have. We had a good time and we all found silver. I'll let James and Eddie post their own finds. Here are a few pics of my goodies!!! First up is all my goodies...as you can...
