NICE FINDS IN A, FORMER, VINTAGE PARK

A woman called me, a couple of years ago, and asked me if I would come over to her, deceased, Mother's home to locate the property stakes as she was selling the house for the estate. I knew that the house sat in a subdivision of, only, four homes that were built in, what used to be, a very old...

I am looking for a pair of good, used, reasonably priced, Garrett Seahunter XL500, pulse, diving headphones. It's an older detector and I don't want to spend the money for a new pair. Please e-mail with total price.

USING GARRETT GTI 2500 ON SALT SAND BEACHES

Has anyone used a Garrett GTI 2500 on salt sand beaches? If so, how did it work and what are the best settings to use for that detector? Also, what size coil should be used? I have the 8" and 12". I am headed for Gulf Shores, Alabama in May and am taking my detector. Any good advice would...

    MIDWEST LAKE BEACH FINDS

Here are a couple of my best finds that I sucked up with my Keene Coin Dredge in a midwest lake swimming area over the last couple of years. One is this heavy(13.5g) man's 14k gold ring. It is quite ornate as the picture shows. The other is a 14kt, white gold, engagement ring with a beautiful...

    OLD FAIRGROUND FINDS

The weather was beautiful and I got the urge to metal detect. I grabbed my faithful Garrett GTI 2500 and headed 27 miles to an old fairground that closed in 1957. I have hunted it a couple of times, each year for at least 25 yrs, after the crops are out and before they plant it in the spring...

    1872 INDIAN HEAD CENT

Here is a pic of, what would have been, a nice 1872 Indian Head that I dug up in a house yard that used to bea park back in the 1800's. It was in a site where the old pavillion use to sit. Notice the nicks on it that I made [attachment 71492 1872IndianHeadside1.jpg][attachment 71493...

    CORN FIELD FINDS

I am posting two pictures of my finds in a cornfield, about 25 miles from my home, that was a county fairgrounds until 1957 but is, now, a farm field. The first pic is of my trip in Nov. 2006 and the second pic is my finds from my recent trip on 4-21-07. Obviously, any coin over one cent...

BEACH HUNTING AT MYRTLE BEACH, SC

Has anyone found anything decent while metal detecting on Myrtle Beach? I thought that I'd try my luck at hunting, there, when we visit in October. I've got an older Garrett XL500 Seahunter Pulse detector that seems to work well on salt sand. Are there any areas, there, that are better than...

USING A GARRETT GTI 2500 ON SALT WATER BEACH

Has anyone had any experience using a Garrett GTI 2500 detector on salt water beaches? Just wondered how it performs and what mode would be best to hunt in? Any good finds with it?

    GARRETT GTI2500 ON SALT BEACHES

Has anyone had any experience using a GTI 2500 detector on salt beaches? Just wondered how it performs and shouldn't a person hunt in "salt" mode? Any good finds with it?

    GULF SHORES/ORANGE BEACH, AL. BEACHES

Has anyone had any experience hunting saltwater beaches with a Garrett GTI2500? Just wondered how it performs on saltwater sand? I have been using an old Garrett XL500, Seahunter Pulse, detector a few times and have been happy with it. I've never used the GTI2500 on the beach.

    OLD DANCE HALL FINDS

The weather was beautiful, today, so decided to drive up to, what used to be, an old dance pavillion back in the 30's and 40's. The story is that people would bring their own bottles and the drunks wiould hang out in the parking lot and drink. That was evidenced by the amount of screw on wine...

    WIRELESS HEADPHONES FOR DETECTOR

Can someone recommend a good wireless headphone set that works well with a Garrett GTI2500? I tried a pair of SENTRY phones and modified a plug, etc., but they didn't work very well. The sound was terribly distorted.

    GTI 2500 FACTORY RECALIBRATION

I sent my older GTI 2500 detector to Garrett to have it checked over and re-calibrated to accomodate the new 9.5 coil. When I received it, they had kept my old 8.5, white, coil and sent me the new 9.5 black spider coil and new stem. The modification cost was very reasonable and much less than...

    COLLECTABLE TOM MIX RINGS

Most of you, probably, don't remember the Tom Mix western movies made back in the 1920's and 1930's but might remember the Tom Mix radio show that ran from 1933 to 1950 called "Tom Mix Ralston Straight Shooters". During that time these rings were placed in Ralston cereal boxes. I've had these...

GTI 2500 ALL METAL MODE STABILITY

I've used a GTI 2500 for several years. I, usually, hunt in coin mode as I haven't figured out how to get stability in all metal mode. I would like to hunt in all metal, sometimes, but I can't seem to master a stable tone. It just seems to go wild. I used to hunt with the ADS detectors that...

    HS FOOTBALL FIELD FINDS

I got the urge to go metal detecting, this afternoon, so drove about 15 miles to a small town to check out it's HS foodball field. Normally, they keep it locked up when school is not in session but I got lucky and the gate was open. I pulled in and got out my Garrett 2500 GTI detector and...

    CORNFIELD FINDS

I got the urge, today, to head out to a cornfield, about 25 miles from where I live, that used to be a fairground until the early 1950's. The corn had been picked but the farmer had, only, shredded about 12 rows near the road and the rest of the field was in corn stubble. I detected the...

    F.S. T80 Hookah compressor

A number of years, ago, I ordered a Coin/jewelry dredge from Keene Engineering. It came with a diving pkg. including a T80 COPMPRESSOR. After awhile, I removed the compressor from my dredge, to make it lighter, as I never got into diving(not certified) and stored it in my shed. It appears to...
