Ba Da Bling!!! 4 carat diamond?!

Hadn't been out in a while here in socal. This one was a heart stopper. Looks like 3-4 carat diamond. Can it be real? Gromet has his doubts. Says 925 on back of earring. Biggest rock I've found so far regardless.

    2005 Booty

Here is my booty for 2005 season in socal. All was found in wet sand at low tide. There might be a couple in there from last year. Row on the left is all gold, all others are marked silver, except for a couple of watches. Still looking for that real 1+ karat diamond!

    One silver ring in SOCAL

Pickin's been poor lately. Lots of sand washed up on local beach lately. Made a trip to La Jolla Shores and snagged this 925 silver ring. Was at Carlsbad Costco a couple of days ago. Spotted a 4.23 carat diamond ring on sale for $97,000 (retail $147,000). Wow!

Watch, Ring, and belly button pins

No gold today in socal, but interesting none the less. In the wet sand found; a fleshly dropped Citizen watch, Sterling silver ring, small goldish medalian (unmarked), and two belly button pins. Never found a belly button pin before. Couldn't have come from one person, we only got one. (I hope...

    Costco carrying $25,000 diamond rings!

Stopped by Costco here in Carlsbad,CA today. The glass encased jewelry display caught my eye. Saw a $5,000 ring, then a $10,000 2 carat (3 stone) necklace, then a $25,000 diamond ring! Who would have thunk it. What's next. Ferraris at walmart?

    Glittery Earing and Silver Cross

Saturday night was a bit unusual hunt here on socal beach on wet sand. Kept getting signals galore. Got tired digging them all! Usually I'm lucky just to get a few signals. Most were new change. Found a silver earing with several dozen sparklers (i'm sure fake, but pretty!). Also silver cross...

    Meager picks, but one gold

Went out at low tide last here in socal. Only got half a dozen targets in 2 hours. A couple of pennies, nickel, quarter, one tab, and one gold ring. Its small 10K, but I'll take it.

Labor Day finds - Two Gold, Two Silver

A first for me! Two gold rings in one day. It was extremely crowded on socal beach today. Three hours out at 4pm low tide. It paid to make elbow room in with the folk. Rubies, Diamonds and Gold

Found my first diamond ring (I hope). My Excalibur made a faint, but consistant gold sound on this. It was 12 inches down in wet sand! Its a small ring, but has ten diamonds and one ruby. Says 14K. Also a four digit number possibly indicating the sequence build number?

What is your Gold to Diamond ratio?

I'm pretty new at beach detecting. So far, I've yet to find real diamonds, but found four gold rings. I'm curious, how many gold rings do you find for every diamond ring found?

    Socal rings

Snagged these two in two hours of detecting at 6am low tide here in socal with my Excalibur. The band is 14K. The other is 925 silver with black onyx center. I'm sure the diamonds are not real. Doubt diamonds are ever mounted in silver.

I want to put a Sovereign 10" Tornado coil on my Excalibur800. Don't think it was made for underwater use. Will it bob like a cork, or be useful underwater?

    Atlantic tide vs. Pacific tide

I notice alot of FL MD'ers hunt in the water, while it seems most southern CA MD'ers hunt in the wet sand. I got curious and looked at the tide tables at http://freetidetables.com/ for both coasts. It appears the tidal swing is 3-4 feet in FL, while tidal swing is 9 feet in SOCAL. Maybe folk...

With the optional Minelab Meter, what ID numbers would one see with the Soverign for: Silver HAlf - Clad Quarter - Silver Dime - Clad Dime - Copper Penny - Clad Penny - Nickel - Perhaps the numbers would vary due to calibration? I'm more interested in whether the Soverign can differentiate...
