    Thinking about trying a Lobo ST. Should I?

    Currently using a silver umax and vaquero +5" coil. I've tried a cibola, modded gb cibola, compadre, and tejon. I'm not nugget hunting. I doubt the lobo would be better than the vaq for coin / relic hunting, but i'm still curious. My other option is just getting a 5x10 for the vaq to cover...

    My first buffalo nickel today

    Stopped by a friend's house in an old factory town. Dug a buffalo nickle, a wheat penny, and clad. My buddy was amazed by how fast I was finding the coins...he mentioned it three times. I explained to him that much of the speed is due to the Tesoro. Another picture perfect day of weather too ;-)

    here it is, my less than $4 pinpointer...and its good :drinking:

    I picked these up from ebay...2 for about $7 shipped. They work, but the wires are very thin and would break the 1st time out detecting. First thing I did was hot glue the components and loose wires. Then I found some nice flexible plastic to encase them. I used a sharpie to make outlines...

    Final Conclusion is: Cibola with Gb is a winner:clapping:

    Used it for an hour...... Today I just Ground balanced in all metal mode to neutral and some times slightly positive........no problems finding coins, small pieces of copper wire, foil, and brass ... the tones for each are very distinguishable....It handles Iron very well. ...Its running...

    1st impressions w/ GB'd Cibola. I welcome any info ;-)

    Just did the mod today and I took it out on the front lawn (in the dark) to test it out. Gb'd very quickly in AM with the 10 turn pot. I then tried the "power balance" in discriminate mode, but could not get a beep on the up bob....I attempted it a few times, but never got it....short on...

    Ever send your fixed GB Tesoro in to calibrate for a new coil?

    I've sent them detectors before, but never to have one recalibrated. I'm assuming its the same procedure; send control box with coil and return address note. What about return shipping? I know I could just ask Tesoro, but thought this might be easier if anyone knows

    Tabdog has me thinking.. what do you guys think of the 180 vs 120 machines?

    The 180 seems hotter, but at the expense of more iron and aluminum in the diet. Its easy enough to tell, but I get tired of hearing only iron and I start to dig the better sounding ones....results = more buckles. Some aluminum and crumpled foil signal in as tempting digs all too often. So...
