    Interesting button

Gave the Vaquero a break and took the old Silver Sabre umax with the new 11x8 DD RSD coil to the old lumber town. This button along with some spent black powder cartridges were the finds.

    Silver Sabre RSD

Purchased a 11x8 Epsillon DD coil for my Silver Sabre umax. While hunting along if I happen to bump a branch or perhaps a stout weed stem the detector has a habit of sounding off. If I hold it in the air and give it a sharp tap with my hand same deal What you think something loose inside or...

The snows about gone and the trails are 4 wheel drive ready.

I took the Vaquero out for the first hunt of the year. Pleasant surprise with the 1866 Indian head note the iron rust rust stuck to it and the weird unidentifiable object along with it.

    VDI machine

I am Tesoro fan to the end but do find my curiosity aroused about VDI machines. I may just give one a try. Any suggestions?

    Umax with negative GB.

It appears that much like my Vaquero running my U/MAX detectors with a slight negative ground balance does indeed give more depth.

Beeping and Digging a Mi lumber town

This is what happens when you dig those good and iffy signals. Of course the coins and good stuff are in another location. Gotta love those Tesoro detectors.

Vaquero maybe one last time this season.

Out in the woods today here in N. Mi. with a bit of snow falling. Detecting days are numbered. The old town I am working was booming in the 1870s and had 3 hotels. Today found my third key fob from one of those hotels I also have for room 1 and room 28. Dozens of detectors passed over this piece...

    Loud signals empty holes.

Just got back from the woods using the Vaquero with the 8x9 and 5.75 concentric. Had several deep empty holes with loud signals and no target found. Am wondering if a negative ground balance or the HOT circuit of the Vaquero contributes to this? I don't remember this happening with my two umax...

    Whats your metal detecting history?

Thought this might make an interesting topic. My history started in 1975 with the purchase of a Whites 2 hip mount metal mineral machine which I still have Used it with some success on some old home sites and in the water. Some coins and a few rings some very good. My son found 4 Indian heads...

    Vaquero day 4

Down about 10inchs in an area that's had probably every detector known to man swung over it my umaxs included.

    New Tesoro

Went to my favorite 1870s lumber town with the new Vaquero and Stock 8x9 coil. Hunted an area I have hammered with my Umax detectors and had the "Vaquero goes deeper" fact proven to me. All these finds were deep and I mean deep. I will agree with those that say the audio isn't as good as Umax...

    Vaquero:smile:

Just received and assembled my new Vaquero. We are supposed to have high 40s to 50s for the next few days here in upper Mi. Will be heading to our favorite old lumber town to give it a try. I have had great success with my Umax detectors but am hoping for greater depth since much of the areas...

    6000D

Got the old 6000D out of the closet stuck the 14AA batteries in it and it fired up sort of. No sound from the speaker only thru head phones, GEB disc works, GEB works, the push button for mode changes does not, GEB max pegs the needle and it stays there. I might contact Whites and see if its...

    Tesoro coils.

Will the 11x8 wide scan 5 pin coil work on my Bandido two umax, Silver sabre umax.?

    Vaquero

I have been using my Bandido 2 umax and Silver Sabre umax for years with great results. We hunt mostly old Mi lumber camps looking for coins and old stuff. Would I gain much if anything by upgrading to a Vaquero or Outlaw.?
