Ray -Still Looking For that "D" - old pics 7-08-04

last and probably only 1916 Merc found was in real good condition but no "D". But on that same day found these other coins too. Surely I cannot complain. Besides my 'grail' coin is still gold! :)

Well got permission to hunt a 1803 property! :)

found a property that dates back to 1803. Nice old colonial house with a big barn, garage, & root cellar. Sat vacant for 15 years now. Owner passed and donated to some local church. Finally tracked down the new owners and the guy got back to me today. He gave me the green light. I told him if I...

First Hunt Of Spring Was Promising!

finally got out today for 2.5 hours to check out my new site. Started out with a false start - new rechargeables went dead in 30 minutes. So I switched to the alk. pack which had about 4 good hrs left on them. Anyways, my first find was a partial 1800's Large Cent. Then I found a 1929 merc real...

well i may have stumbled on to another good site!

found a property that dates back to early 1800's. Guy wants me to find a property marker and looks like he's gonna let me detect wherever I want. Has about +100 acres! Old colonial and old out- buildings and barn. Only been detected long ago by his wife - now in her 70's. Depending on timing and...

Minelab Depth - the envy of many :super:

using Minelab EX II : my first deep find was a Nova Constellatio Large Copper with no date (1783-1786) at 12" deep. Since then I have found numerous Large Coppers at 12" deep. Many of the other Large Coppers found frequently run at about the 8" mark. Also found were <two dime sized> 1787 & 1789...

Motor-boating??? Anyone run into this on EX II ???

last two times out with EX II with X-1 probe, 10.5" coil had this happen: after about 2.5 hours the machine starts motor boating or just sounding off for no apparent reason like it's gone haywire. Battery reads about half charge. turn off/on does no good. using non-rechargeable batteries. This...

How Not to Reap The Whirlwinds...

You guys ain't gonna believe this.... on another well-known website a guy reports that TODAY 3 agents showed up at his door asking him questions about his post on that website regarding a TX cache. He bragged about knowing exactly where it was and was asking for help to recover it. Let me...

Well Got Out for a couple hrs - nothing exciting

hunted a couple hours on my new property which was very close to original farmhouse built in 1700's. Found a 1919 wheatie but rest was junk. Digging items produced telltale signs of burn pile, foundation fragments, and bulldozing activity. Finding lots of quartz with tiny silver specks in it...

Well If You're Really Bored - what I've been up to... :lmfao:

haven't been out detecting since end of June. We sold our house and relocated to another county (Chester)in PA. After finding a house, moving and settling in and doing all the many fun-filled things entailed - by the time I even felt like MD'ing it had snowed and the ground was frozen. But this...

well hello all! Just droppin' by to see what's happening in here and what you all have been up to. I'll be MIA till probably fall - so don't expect to see any finds. This place seems to have really slowed down - maybe just my imagination. Was very sorry to hear about Wayne and his tragic mishap...

Recharge batt. pack replacement - best option?

Well got out recently and my original EX II Recharge batt. pack lasted about 2.5 hrs before motor boating on me. It was fully changed at start of hunt. Batt. indicator read empty. Turned off and back on - batt. indicator went about quarter way from bottom but detector did not seem to operate...

been quite awhile for me since posting here. Man, this place sure has changed! Have been rather busy on several big projects and have only been out MD'ing 4 times this year so far. Found something worth posting this weekend. Got a 1897 barber quarter at about 6-8" mark in ground. Reason I'm not...
