OK Dave, you get first-refusal!! :twodetecting:

:whites::garrett: Kellyco selling the Daddy Coil

I have been running a 10X12 SEF on my (i-upgraded) V3 for a couple of months and it runs perfectly well. It is a little bit heavy for me as I'm fairly lightly built! If I use 2.5 or 7.5 single frequency it seems to setup pretty-much the same as any Whites coil. Running in three frequencies I...

    "On-board Quick Reference" guide

Hi All I've been skimming through the "Quick Reference Guide" info on my V3i and have found quite a bit of information there that is not in the manual (or at least it is presented differently). What I am wondering is whether it is possible to get the full text of this to download and read on a...

Coils Coils Coils is better than oil oil oil:usan:

The problem is that the rules have changed and Whites will not replace a coil that car run in air with Rx of 15 with TXB OFF. I can't see dealers doing a coil swap if they have to carry the cost when the Factory starts saying "we say it is OK so we're not going to replace it for you (the dealer)".

    Test your coils guys ..............................

Hi All In light of the information below, you may want to check all of your coils as the goal-posts seem to be on the move ......................... Carl says ............ "It's true that I've instructed UK to test V-loops at Rx=15 and TXB=off. As we've gotten more long-term data on our...

Bad coil test .... yes again!!!

Hi Carl ............ thanks for this ................ is it the same for the US or just the UK? And, a coil that goes out of adjustment during a hunt due to the effect of the ambient temperature (72F) .... what is you take on that - surely it cannot be reasonable only to be able to use a coil on...

Bad coil test .... yes again!!!

I prob shouldn't have said "believe", I just don't think he can get his head round the fact that even mildly warm weather can possibly screw a coil. Seems I'm not the only one with the issue though ......

Bad coil test .... yes again!!!

Hi John Sounds just like mine. Do me a favour and chase James in Inverness will you ..... he doesn't seem to believe there is an issue!!

Bad coil test .... yes again!!!

Hi Rob Thanks for this ............... I will point the UK factory at this thread!!! I was sure I was right but had to get proof! My prob is with my 6X10 that goes screwy as soon as it gets warm. I was out the other day (72F) and it went berserk. Brought it home - cooled it indoors overnight...

Bad coil test .... yes again!!!

I know there's a sticky on this but I have had a conversation with the UK factory today about a duff 6X10. They say the coil test is ............ coil at waist height, Rx to 15, Tx Boost OFF. Now this isn't what we've been told is it? We have always been told to turn Tx Boost ON...

    Stock V3i programs

Hi All Just a quick one. Does the V3i have the same stock programs as the V3? I am awaiting the return of my upgraded detector and am wondering if/how the stock programs are different - if indeed they are. Cheers. Colin.

    V3i - VISION

Hi Norman I can't comment on the Etrac but I have had my V3 (I'm in the UK BTW) for about 10 months and all I can say is that it seems super-sensitive to tiny hammies - I have had more halves and quarters than with any other machine - and it also seems to get the larger hammies on well-searched...

    Performance drop-off and intermittent overloading

New 2D arrived today. It is 100% better than my old one. I am back to Rx 15 and Sens 90/65. So it was a duff coil. Just need to check the 6X10 now and get the i upgrade done!

Tidbits of info on the V3i Upgrade

Just a quick question for those who have had the Upgrade. I read on another forum that the Rx probe feature has been deleted from the V3i. Any truth in this? TIA.

    Performance drop-off and intermittent overloading

Exactly the same problem that I and a number of others have had or are having. My mate had his coils replaced because Whites UK assumed it was coil failure (but as I have said before - how likely is it that BOTH coils would suddenly fail at the same time?). It didn't fix the issue and eventually...

    Performance drop-off and intermittent overloading

Rob, was the same epoxy used in the 10" DD and 6X10 coils? Thanks.

    Performance drop-off and intermittent overloading

In the UK we are having a spate of similar issues with the V3. The first thing we notice is the recommended Rx slowly (over a period of weeks or months) falls from 14 or 15 to 6 or 7 (on the same sites and with same conditions). When this happens we do the standard coil test (Rx 15 & Tx boost...

    V3i

I wouldn't have had a problem with paying for an upgrade once the machine was a year or two old ..... it is just the fact that it has come around so soon - in my case after just 9 months .... I will be getting it though, I'm sure!

    V3 weight ?

Balance is more important than absolute weight - and the V3 is excellently balanced.

    RX Gain and False Signals

Hi Guys Well, have finally managed to get a few hours on a ploughed (UK) field and I now have an idea how to setup my 10X12 SEF. As expected, recommended Rx is a lot lower in the 22.5KHz mode but in single frequency 7.5KHz it wasn't a lot higher (recommended 7 instead of 4). Interestingly, my...
