    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

I agree Rob. Nothing I guess to really settle, as long as that good stuff keeps coming out of the ground is all that matters.

    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

I would add that I am referring to Whites non V-rated coils when talking about the behavior Best Data mode and higher conductive targets. On a non V-rated Whites coil you will see for example a clad 50 cent piece come in at 92-93 in best data (air testing). The same coin will come in at 90-91 in...

    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

Well, like I said "I know I will get differing opinions". I will concede that small gold would be an exception as far as depth goes. I can see the Best Data doing a better job with a smaller low conductive target. My findings are based on a lot of testing over targets both in the field and coin...

    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

Yes, the coils from the DFX will work. As long as the wrap preset is where it is at, the correlate mode mode will handle the non V rated coils. Best Data has trouble with higher conductive targets sometimes with older coils. You will of course need to use lower RX and DS settings. Single...

    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

Great Information Rob! Thank You. I must have missed this info somewhere. Combined with the preset Span, this means the VX3 will work in my environment and get just as deep as the V3I. I have two individuals that will be happy to know they can save some money on there purchase.

    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

Hmmm? Why explain wrap on a detector that can't deal with it? :clapping:

    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

This of course is silly, since the machines are identical except for firmware. :surrender:

    VX3 questions for the newbies.......

 With the exception of the coil, they are identical as far as hardware goes. The box, the display, the rods, all the same. If you happen to find out the presets Rob, please share your VX3 program for the V3/V3i. Do you think someone will figure out how to unlock the VX3 to...

Fantastic find! This is what it is all about. Thanks for sharing. Jack

    My take on the VX3

I am going to have to agree with Rob here. Normalization Off, and Analyze modes are not essential to finding deep coins, or shallow ones mixed in the trash. 3 frequency pin point is much more effective and quicker since you have to do it anyhow. I think the VX3 is a lobotomized V3/V3i, but still...

    Help with my SEF Coil

The SEF is seeing the quarter in 22.5, but it elevated to the point that it is wrapping on you. As stated, this is a normal for a non v-rated coil. Along with issues in Single frequency 22.5 mode you will find that Best Data is problematic at best. Correlate runs great as long as you allow for...

    My take on the VX3

    It's out...Looks familiar!

    My take on the VX3

Yes, I understand the 3 frequency Correlate / Best Data option, or lack off in this case, but from the brochure that I have seen it looks like you have a choice of single frequency modes 2.5 / 7.5 / 22.5 as an option. Unless the example picture in the brochure is not accurate? It does include...

    My take on the VX3

I believe you do have access to frequency selections of 3-Frequency - Salt - 2.5kHz ... from the Live Menu.

    Nickels at 27 VDI??

That seems a little high. Try it in single frequency mode 2.5 / 7.5 / 22.5. This may reveal that one frequency is skewed and causing the problem.

    kellyco coils

I would agree with Neil. They are great coils. The 10x12" will get slightly deeper than the D2, but frequency response in pinpoint is not as accurate. I have used the 15x12" SEF as well. It has great depth especially in single frequency modes.

Thats a great bunch of finds Larry. I have not been able to get out to much lately. This is really motivating to get out there.

    12inch coil

The Super12 does not get good penetration in moderate to highly mineralized soils unless using single frequency 2.5kHz.The stock D2 coil is the all around best performer for me. It as been a love hate relationship to say the least. I am on my 5th one, (Whites has this under control...
