What is everyones Merc. to silver Rosie ratio?

I have some obvious type-o's in my above post. It is so irritating not to be able to edit a post after it has been posted. It should read... "It has been mostly even between Mercs and Rosies for me. I find 1 barber for every 5 Mercury Dimes however." sorry for the bad post. Jack

I has been mostly even between Mercs and Rosies for me. I find 1 barber for every 5 Mercury Dimes however. Jack

    15x12" Sef v-rated just showed up....Deep Seeker!!!

Can you run it up to an Rx of 15 with TX Boost turned on? I can only get to 9 on the RX with the TX Boost turned on with mine. I would think that Kellyco would make a big deal about this on their web site if they were V-Rated. Man that would be to get my hands on a 10X12 SEF that was V-Rated.

Comparing the V3 to the V3i - What should I be looking for?

I have to agree with Schrecky. I really don't see this upgrade improving depth or sensitivity. The polar plot looks interesting, the coil size adjustment is nice, but just not worth the money to me. I worry about the sensitivity being adjusted down to compensate for the coil null shifting...

    Comparison thread

Sorry Yazoo, I tried to keep it clean. I personally think we have to get this past this Whites/Minelab thing if we are going to learn anything. I was really trying to get some good factual information flowing about these two detectors. Larry did his best to help me out, and gave it a fair...

Tip on pinpointing with the D2

Thanks Magic! Great tip. I tried this out in the coin garden, works like a dream! Jack

Are DFX and V3 coils interchangable?

The coils will work fine on the V3. You will have slightly higher VDI readings in the 22.5 range. Sensitivity settings will have to be slightly lower to accommodate the improper null. I use a Bigfoot all the time with the V3. It does quite well. I have slowly upgraded all my coils to V ratings...

Few more from the old house...

Nice hunt Magic! You are getting some great finds as of late. Picking out those low conductive targets is impressive. I am going to try and get out Saturday for a hunt. This inspires me, thanks for sharing. Jack

    A few from todays hunt...

Nice hunt Magic! I love finding Indians. Three in on hunt is impressive. I think the "50 shot" tag may have something to do with a "Kilgore 50 Shot toy cap gun" possibly a side piece to it? http://www.blackmarketantiques.com/early-kilgore-cast-iron-shot-invincible-pistol-p-1594.html A variety...

question on accepting all vdi numbers

I feel the continuity of the tone response remains much more intact with this method. The transition time of a null feels much more broken to me. Very low tones such as the ones Yazoo implements in his correlate program in the wrap range have made a big difference for me as well. Custom tones...

    Frustrated V-3 swinger

I am curious as well. How does this work?

    June Dime Finds

Nice looking coins! Silver is an exciting thing to find. As you continue to hunt sites that have been heavily hunted you will notice what you have already brought to light in this post. Dimes are a commonly missed targets. They are harder to see at depth and the V3 has a way of making them sound...

    Frustrated V-3 swinger

Way too early to get frustrated friend. Try lowering your filters to 5Hz and slowing your recovery delay. Be patient and don't worry about the guy with the E-Trac. Watch how he hunts and observe his swing speed and methods. Next time he gets a good hit ask him to let you know and test and adjust...

    SLQ and More!!

This is a very impressive hunt! Congratulations on a nice bunch of old coins. The partial pulltab is a great observation. This is probably why it was missed by other detectorist. What was your dominant frequency during pin pointing? I think the V3 has a way of letting the higher conductive...

    Help with a test

I just found this thread. Rob, it looks like you have a good test study going on here. Somewhere along the line the purpose of my endeavors with the correlate mode on the V3 have gotten twisted. My primary hunting grounds are old parks and parkway strips with an occasional old house thrown in...
