    li-ion makes one heck of a difference in power tools, i dont even consider buying any other type. i just hope it doesn't cost 500 bucks for the v3i set-up.

    turn off discrimanate audio modulation that will make all targets the same volume, also try a buried coin test with and without boost, might help. someone closer to you will have more soil specific advice.

    invisible fence

    was hunting a wooded area by a stream when my v started to go nuts, was so bad i had to use all metal audio, no clue why till i saw the flags for the invisible dog fence, 60 feet away discrim audio is useless ,get within 5 feet and all metal audio goes crazy. anybody know how these fences work...

    V3+1 and DX-1 - odd pinpointing at times

    i just find in my area finding pesky .22 short cartridges and such sometimes requires multiple triggering, i think detuning is the issue in soil that is tough to get a good probe threshhold.

    im glad ralph agrees, you guys had me wondering. ralph is great ive had him help me and a friend with technical issues on her machine over the phone, i would trust ralph. also hot settings seem to elevate the odd behavior.

    if pinpoint is locked sensitivity seems to fade at times on smaller targets, thats all. got mine new, instructions dont have much to say.

    from what ive found,run hot and big deep old rusty metal will give pretty steady +50 to +60 till its dug then it reads iron. where i hunt that kind of signal can be indians, wheats, thin dimes, musket balls down deep. just dig it.

    when using pinpoint with the probe be carefull to hold it in the same spot on the shaft then trigger in air, dont lock pinpoint, some retriggering may be necessary at times for a predictable response. thats what works well for me.

    read posts and dont go crazy with settings right away the v is great , trust it and learn to better it. the v is super on preset programs.

    garbage is a fact of life, dont expect great finds all the time, we all dig lots of trash to find the good stuff , the treasure is out there.

    thats right about what i get in maine, i think some are just blessed with soil type. my vdis are all over the place at most places i hunt, one low trash spot i couldnt get a clad quarter to hit decent at 5in regardless of settings .

    yes sir dig all positives in a low trash area, best way to go ,i find lots of deep lead even though i dont really want to , old stuff is cool to me no matter what it is.
