Elson and Falk are on the way. I just got a post card from Colorado...

<center> [attachment 67084 roadtoruin.jpg] They should hit my place on Monday afternoon. We will no doubt swap stories for a while. On Tues I plan to take the dynamic duo to the under water ghost town site. If it goes as planned, this should be a great hunt and lots of fun! For the next...

Nancy and I went water hunting again. I will use some more waterhunting lingo, " Holy Crap!" Do not open post without sunglasses or welding

I was hunting the water and Nancy hunted on land. We found a lot of change, a hot wheels car each, ear rings, a swiss army knife, a Micky Mouse token, and these rings. I found the green stone one in the mucky bottom quite deep. It is very old. Some one was swimming with Grandmas ring I think. It...

Recon photos of the area we are going to hunt, (Elson, Falk, and myself.) A mountain ghost town....

Ladies and gentlemen, I will soon be blessed by a visit by a pair of forum ledgends. Elson and Falk are heading my way in a couple weeks. Our fun time together will include a trip to the underwater ghost town that Nancy and I hunted over two years ago. The town was covered by water in the '30s...

BIG, but it sure is ugly. <center> [attachment 64861 Hog1.jpg]

I went out and did a little water hunting this morning, I sure like gold in the scoop! And one near heart attack find too.

Well, I played hooky again. It has just been too hot to detect anyplace but in the water for a long time, so wet it is! I spent a couple hours in the nice cool and clean water of the swimming hole. The place had been re-planted since my last visit, so the finds came on strong. Toe rings...

If you like what Vernon did with his nautical room, you should see what he did with the bathroom! (Before and after pictures)

Before, <center> [attachment 64137 before.jpg] After, <center> [attachment 64138 after.jpg] Amazing transformation, and out of the weather! DC

Nancy and I took a trip through the Sawtooth Wilderness..

We thought the high mountains of central Idaho might be the place to escape the heat so we took a Saturday trip up through Sawtooth wilderness area. This is what the area looks around Sun Valley. <center> [attachment 63433 sunvalley.jpg] Not many trees on those hills, but there sure was a lot...

If you are thinking of trying water hunting to beat the heat, this might help you decide. Here are just the gold rings I have found in the last couple

O.K. not all of these(60%) are water finds, but you get the point. I live in landlocked dry old Idaho and I only water hunt about 3 or 4 times a year, but I do seem to find at least one gold ring every time I hunt. On one trip I came up with 5 in a couple hours, <center> [attachment 62210...

An update on the return of the class ring Nancy found a month ago...

Nancy found this ring at a highschool football field on june 10. She has at long last spoken to Nikki, the highschool senior who lost the ring. <center> [attachment 61944 P6100008.JPG] <center> [attachment 61945 P6100009.JPG] She was very, very happy to find out her ring had been found, She...

I have some genuine detector finds to post!! How does some gold and precious stones grab ya?

It is so darn hot working construction in the 107 degree in the shade heat, (which wouldn't be so bad IF I had some shade to work in) that I took the day off to do office work. Being the boss and all, office work began with a little trip to my water hunting place on the lake. I got there just...

We hunted for about an hour Saturday, Nancy nailed a nice gold ring..

We have not been hunting much this year, but that is another Steven King kind of story. We did manage to get out for a short hunt. While I was digging up valuable zinc pennies and clad dimes, Nancy called me over to show me how a real detectorist does it. She had, in her usual fashion, found a...

Nancy and I played hooky from work and took the detectors up to the mine camp.

It was such a lovely day I could not stand the thought of going to work. Nancy and I went back to the gold camp that we had found a route to on Saturday, this time with detectors. I put our detectors in their bags and wrapped them with a blanket before bungying them to the front rack of the atv...

Some more photos from our recon trip.

Here are a few more picts of our Saturday atv trip to the gold mine. I thought that these showed a little more of what the country is like around here. Hope you like 'um. <center> [attachment 56208 6.jpg] <center> [attachment 56209 5.jpg] <center> [attachment 56210 4.jpg] <center> [attachment...

Nancy and I went on a recon in the mountains looking for an old gold mine. We found it, along with some spectacular scenery!

Some years ago while elk hunting, I came upon a place down in a hole below a mountain that looked like it had once been a camp of some sort. After a little research and talking to some locals, it turned out to be an old mine site that dated back to the 1860's. It was on my list of places to...

We had our day in court. Looks llke I will be posting some more grandkid photos this weekend!!!!! :) :)

The long nightmare is starting to end. The courts laid down a joint custody arrangment that, among other things, means we get the grandkids every other weekend. I want to thank you all for your prayers and thoughts, and thank God that the truth is comimg out. We have had no contact with our...

Huge water company tokens!!! I found a BUNCH of them lastnight.

I went out to night hunt and hit the grass strip next to the sidewalk in an older part of town. It was dark, and I had forgotten my flashlight, but the finds came anyway. At first it was just the usual clad and junk, but I got a good signal and bingo! Out came this beautiful old token. It is in...

    More desert prospecting and scenery...

The road into this area is 30 miles of dirt. This day, the road was dry and solid. In the summer it turns to a powdered sugar type of dust that is about a food deep. You can imagine what that is like to drive in with a tail wind that you cannot outrun. (cough and gag icon here) I have been...
