    Checking In - and question

Ive been doing some dirt digging lately and really enjoying it. I have started to use the stock Hi Pro with a like new D2 I have been using the 950 so much it's almost worn out. When I put the D2 on I was amazed it barely had a scratch. What I am finding is this machine is so sensitive that I...

    V3i Help

Try turning down the sensitivity till the detector quiets down. You'll be surprised you wont lose much depth and your finds will get better. You can also experiment hunting in pin point mode when you get a target release the trigger and check it.

    coil 4x6 or 6x10

Yes I get so many signals that getting an accurate ground probe or a decent ground balance is next to impossible. As far as EMI it might be... this place is a 100 yards from a major expressway but nicely hidden away. A short walk to what once was a very big port active as far back as mid to...

    coil 4x6 or 6x10

Rob I am currently hunting a park with lots of trash and tons of iron bits. I cant seem to get a read on the vdi of the soil. Any suggestions? I have been using the 950 believe it or not in salt beach. It seems to quiet things down a bit. I did use the D2 there once but it seemed to be very...

    Hitting the beach Monday

Depending on how much the beach is sanded. Yes a beach that is well sanded in is a waste of time. However there are times when the beach is "lightly" sanded ...2-6 tides after erosion has occurred. At that point the V can shine. For a non mineralized beach you can run very hot and get down a...

    V3I Finds since mid July

I hunted everyday during the summer. One of the reasons I started this was to try and stay healthy I have a desk job and it kills me...Some days I did 5 miles others just a few but I always felt great when I was done. I am going to try and put in at least 2 days a week this winter. This week...

Is higher always better, if it's stable?

Larry are you saying that if he maxed out the RX and the detector was stable he would miss surface jewelry? I know most Jewelry is on the top but on the beach after it's cut after a storm I find a day or 2 after the storm ( a few tides ) The beach gets sanded in and it's then I have found some...

    Hitting the beach Monday

I'm in the North East Rob. I usually hit all of Long Island tip to tip. (East To West) South to Jersey down to Cape May. Most beaches are mild but there are a few that are mind blowers. Came off one today!

    Hitting the beach Monday

Rob I dont know if your talking to me but there are some beaches east of me that have patches of really bad black sand. So bad in fact the detector would not work at all in regular salt beach. I find by going slow in pinpoint I can hunt. Most guys dont bother with these particular beaches...

    V3I Finds since mid July

I know I said I would never do this again but I am. I am doing this because it's time for me to start working and I don't care if I jinx myself! It'l be a while before I get to go out now. Last time I posted a find I went into a gold drought! I'm tired of going to other places on this forum and...

    Hitting the beach Monday

On the wet use a 950 coil as Rob taught me and if it's really mineralized take the RX down and see how far you have to go before she gets quiet. I just came off a really black sand mineralized beach and had to take the rx down to 6 I was hunting in regular salt beach. Please bare in mind I have...

    Recovery Speed

For all the new V3I users the beginning can be daunting Im going on 2 and a half months. My DFX was like an old Tshirt just so comfortable. If it wasn't for making really good finds I may have given up. But with each find I get motivated to learn this machine inside and out. Without the help of...
