    The Vision and Nickels:clapping:

Well, I never thought any machine would allow me to weed out the nickels from the trash better than the Explorer II, but the Vision is actually better. If the two top spectragraphs stay one bar wide and a slight fluctuation in the bottom one, and the VDI locks on 19, then it's a nickel...

Question about gold and foil on the Vision.

Jason, Are the % always higher on gold than a pop top/? Thanks, Wes

    How much usable info...

Yup... I just tested it myself. Works every time. Good info. Thanks, Carl and Jason - Wes.

    How much usable info...

Carl and/or Bob, Can you enlighten us with the answer, please. This is the second or third time this question has come up and I believe that there are several of us who would like to understand how the analyze screen develops its graphs. Thank you, Wes

Is it possible to hunt in the Analyze Mode?

IF you change the sweep speed and rate settings in the analyze menu, you could potentially hunt in analyze mode. I am testing it with a rate of 3 and sweep speed of 8"/S. This gives me an 11' inch ruler instead of the default 2 inch ruler, and it also allows me to see each pass of the coil...

    Sizing feature

When I found my first silver quarter with the Vision it was 7-8 inches deep; and the sizing graph was accurate. I am still learning the detector and on that day I was only digging targets that looked good in search mode and analyze mode as well.

Carl, Bob, or anyone else at White's... Question regarding Ground Balance

Thanks, Bob. I did notice the fast track at start-up. Also, I noticed that in my part of the country (TX panhandle), the detector is ground balanced quite well after the fast track sequence and really doesn't require the manual process. I still run through the GB process, as recommended...

Carl, Bob, or anyone else at White's... Question regarding Ground Balance

I am curious regarding the decision to utilize the pump method GB sequence rather than the 2 step air-ground sequence employed by the DFX. Thank you for your time. Wes

We appreciate the hard work, Jason. Thank you.

    Pinpointing with the Vision

You can pinpoint using X method, or you can depend solely upon the sound and graphs on the Vision. Both are very accurate.

    First Silver with the Vision!

BC=15 seems to work well. Even the tricky signals (VDI as a coin) have enough break up in the audio so that I know they are not good targets. I still occasionally second guess the machine and dig them any way. I have heard that such a high BC setting might discriminate deep coins, so I am...

    Sweep Speed Adjustment

The slower sweep speed settings allow me to move the coil almost as slowly and minutely as what you can with the Explorer II, with no delay. The cool thing is that you can still sweep the coil faster than I would recommend with the Explorer and maintain favorable results. For very, very slow...

    Hardware...?

Carl from White's told us that the Vision uses an ARM 9 RISC based processor.

    Sweep Speed Adjustment

Also... You can adjust the Analyze options Rate and Sweep Speed to make the sizing screen very accurate, regardless of any reasonable sweep speed. I use Rate =2 and Sweep Speed = 4. this setting seems to work better than the factory defaults.

    First Silver with the Vision!

A friend and I went to an old "hunted out" school this afternoon. The ground there is very trashy. Not many people hunt there anymore because of this. I followed the edge of the main sidewalk going up to the front doors... when from amongst all of the discriminated signals and trash, I got a...

    Sweep Speed Adjustment

I think I answered my own question. I air tested the results on my lunch break. For a slower sweep speed in mineralized ground, use the 5HZ/High filter. This seemed to enable me to sweep the coin back and forth over the center of the coil at the same speed as I would on my Explorer II and...

    Sweep Speed Adjustment

The Vision's coin and coin & jewelry programs seem to use a fast sweep speed setting. I have become accustomed to a slower sweep speed and would like to use a slower sweep speed with the Vision. I've noticed, especially for in-air testing, that if you use a slow sweep speed, the sizing...

Is the target size feature dependent on sweep speed?

My in house testing shows that slower sweeps on a good target will produce larger graph results. I haven't had an opportunity to test this unit in the field.
