    You are probably right. The only 24K item I have been able to test is a $20 gold coin. (Allot there) But this 18K ring is way smaller than my 14K one and rings allot higher on the VDI.May have to do with the alloys Every solid 18K ring I tested at the jewelry store rang in the 50's

    These settings are kicking butt. Went out today and found the below. Very quiet detector this way. Glad I dug the deep Zinc. Turned out to be a 18k gold ring at 7 inches.

    As Larry stated above. Bury a 25 cent piece about 9 inches deep. have the filter on 5 kHz . Crank it up until you hear it. Then switch you way up to 12.5 kHz. It will not pick it up.     A person would just have to try it. Hard to explain by typing. maybe I'll make a vid. best thing to do is try turning threshold off and run Modulation maxed out at 0. Go over a known deep target near trash and see the difference it makes with the machine cranked up.
