    Ring #2 & #3

Well that didn't take very long. Its a junk ring but a ring none the less. Haven't been back to the lake; am awaiting on my new water shoes to get here. My sandals were killing me. At any rate I also sent off for a TVA metal detecting permit so I can start hunting the TVA beaches around here...

    Machine Suggestion :)

I know you guys are pretty serious about your beach hunting and thus why I'm asking this here. I think most of you are saltwater people but feel free to chime in anyway. As stated once before, I'm only hunting freshwater but the beaches are heavily mineralized with natural iron oxide. The...

    Good books for finding jewelry?

Hey guys. I've seen a bunch of books so far on helpful guides and hints for finding jewelry/beach hunting. I was wondering if you guys had a common favorite(s) that I could look into getting a copy of for myself. I'll only be freshwater beach hunting but I'm sure the same principles will...

:detecting:I used a VX3 last evening and it was great

And that MXT might get kicked to the curb. Try the MXT 300s coil on the VX3....that 950 stock coil is not the best for the red dirt. I played with a VX3 myself and I thought high of it as well.

About 30 hrs on the A/T Pro

I am not a coin hunter by default....I'm a relic hunter. This beach/water hunting stuff has me way out of my element. I've had to trade in the camo BDUs for shorts and my shovel for a scoop. My boots went bye bye for a pair of water shoes and I've went from insect repellent to sun screen...

    U/W headphone volume?

How are you guys contending with the loud volume of the underwater headphones on the A/T pro? I got a set yesterday and I cant even put them over my ears cause the sound hurts me its so loud! I am gonna have to wear them around my neck lol

    Relics and Water

Well not in that order nor at the same time. Took the AT to a swimming hole Friday when I got off work. I don't have the underwater headphones so I didn't dunk the AT Pro but I have a question about that. The manual says you need the underwater headphones if you submerge the headset...

    AT Pro maiden voyage

Hey folks, got an AT Pro for myself last Saturday and just got around to playing with it some this week. I honestly had looked over this machine a few weeks ago and selected a Fisher Gold Bug over it. When I had tested the AT Pro out, I didn't know anything about it and I had it in STD coin...

    mineralization around the U.S

As you know, the red dirt areas are pretty tough for any VLF detector to handle. As previously stated, I've hunted in the GA red clay as far south as Marietta, GA. I've hunted as far north in the red iron dirt of Culpeper County, VA. And I live here in TN where we have a mixture of the GA red...

    mineralization around the U.S

Have hunted the V3 in TN red dirt, GA red clay, and Culpeper, VA red iron dirt. 7.5 SINGLE freq works best, put it in All Metal because things will read as iron, and put your recovery rate on 40 will write more later I am on the cell internet.

    Gold Bug video today

I will say again, I DIDN'T do this video as a head to head against the GPX!! I marked some signals with the GPX that I knew would be bullets by their sound and then fired the Gold Bug up on them, here is just one of the bullets and the signal response, in both all metal and disc mode. The...

Jumped on the Gold Bug wagon

I traded some of my relics off Friday and was looking at getting an A/T Pro detector (can I say that here?). Well after seeing the A/T in action in a demo at the store, I wasn't that impressed to be honest with you. Yeah it has some nice features but the build quality wasn't what I expect a...

    Arrowheads f/s

Would like to sell these in a lot. All picked up in plowed fields here in TN. I didn't find the big one; my uncle found it while hunting with me but it is broken and glued back together. Make me a decent offer.

    Commander 11" Mono & Koss UR30 Headphones + extras

Have a Minelab 11" mono Commander coil for the GPX machines. This came with my 5000. I have only used it in my test garden and it is really about brand new. No pic of this yet but it is in A++ shape. $150 shipped. Also have the Koss UR30 headphones. These also came with the 5000. They are...

    GPX Settings

I just recently purchased a GPX 4500. I bought Jonathan Porter's "SETA Project" dvd and got it in the other day. He does a very good job explaining the differences between the 4500 and previous machines and also demonstrates the changes per timings on real world nuggets. I like his format in...

Spectra V3i comparison to F75 and E-Trac first post

I've owned the F75-LTD and in the past, did have an Explorer II. And I've got a V3i as my main VLF machine now days. Here's my take on it. The F-75 and F-75 ltd were one of my favorites. Well the original F-75 was; in my red dirt, I couldn't use the boost modes of the LTD so it was kind of...

HIGHLY MINERALIZED SOIL & 3 FREQUENCY USE

Hey in the red dirt, you are better off running single frequency #7. I've had mine all around here locally, also down in N. GA in the Kingston-Rome area, and up in VA in Culpeper in the red dirt there. I found that 7 single frequency is hard to beat for that dirt. Put it in single frequency...

    F75 F/S

This is my own personal unit and I think it has been quite a while since I listed a detector on the forum here, so I should be good to go with the rules. First let me say this is the unit that I done all the YouTube vids with. I said I'd never sell this thing but I've not used it but a couple...
