    They're bayonet scabbard finial tips. I was told one is for the Springfield rifle & the larger one is for the Austrian rifle. At first I thought the larger one was a modern bullet.

    Thanks buddy. Yes. 99% of my detecting is done with pulse machine lately. If I'm hunting high emi areas I'll break out my vlf detectors.

    Civil war relics with my G2

    If a target flashes numbers in the mid 70's it's usually a civil war bullet. I haven't used the 11" coil in years. It quit working when I dunked it in water. I use the 13" ultimate & 15" attack coils. The 15" coil is deep.

    Yesterday's finds

    I got out to one of my union camps & detected for a while. It produced a small handful of lead. The ground is extremely dry right now. It did rain a little bit last night but not nearly enough. I'm glad I was able to get out. HH Tim

    Every one that comes up like yours with a iron back is ID as a civilian blazer button. It's a cool button but not civil war. 1900's.
