last few hunts including a 1st year Shield Nickel

I'm actually thinking of going to a spot I just found the other day and try it out right now. I've found a handful of goodies but it seems to have a lot of iron for such a small area. You using the 6 inch or 11 inch coil?

last few hunts including a 1st year Shield Nickel

I'm definitely going to! Ty for the tips I'm always willing to try what works for others to see if it sniffs out some goodies I've skipped over! What I should have been doing is switching to different modes over targets to see how each one sounded. None of the targets are deeper than 4 or 5...

last few hunts including a 1st year Shield Nickel

Now that's some great hunting and some excellent advise! The spot I just got kicked out of by the old lady had very heavy iron so when I get to talk to her and get back in there I'll follow your tips! I almost exclusively hunt field 2 and use higher recovery speed and seem to have decent success...

    Large Cent #14 FTY

Couldn't find the 2 locations I went out to find but did stop at another spot and sniffed out #15 FTY and a couple mid 1800 buttons. The copper Lincoln took a wrong turn somewhere along the way. Did scare up a 1970s Pepsi bottle too HH

    Large Cent #14 FTY

I feel bad for you all west of the Mississippi in that aspect but you seem to have better luck at finding gold coins. I'm off to try and find 2 more old spots and hopefully some more goodies HH

    Large Cent #14 FTY

Went looking for a house on a 1853 map of my area. There was not a lot of flat area for it to be (maybe 15 feet of flat land then it drops down to a creek) and no sight of a foundation or well (maybe used creek for well since it's right there) but I think I found 'er. #14 FTY don't know what...

    KG3?

Went back to where I've found the 10 largies, trime, and flying eagle and sniffed this out of the heavy iron. I didn't see any details at all until I got back to my truck and the rain soaked the coin. Looks like Britannia on the back?

4 Largies, Trime, Fatty Indian, and Gen. William H Harrison Hard Times Token

Large cent... The main road didn't change at all from the looks. Large cent was maybe 5 feet off the road and crotal bell maybe 6 feet

4 Largies, Trime, Fatty Indian, and Gen. William H Harrison Hard Times Token

Went back for a few hours and dug at least 50 nails (they are everywhere) decent targets are getting a lot harder to find but I did score these beauts

4 Largies, Trime, Fatty Indian, and Gen. William H Harrison Hard Times Token

That was just today! Buddy who doesn't detect found 2 largies the other day while I scored only a couple buttons and this was the first time I hit the site minus the barber dime

4 Largies, Trime, Fatty Indian, and Gen. William H Harrison Hard Times Token

This site is unreal! 9 Largies pulled from it and there are still a lot of target there hidden in iron. 12 Large Cents FTY and my second ever Trime. I can't find the back of the Hard Times Token anywhere online so hopefully it's an uncommon one HH

    #1 Bucket Lister Scratched Off

Been doing some field hunting with some decent success with a couple Barbers (16 Silver FTY) nice crotal bell (my biggest complete bell), and some other eh finds. I did some research last night and see a house on a 1853 map so decided today to try and find it. It's safe to say I located it! 3...

    Musket Balls, Buttons, and Largies

I found this there the day before at the same spot... A holed1830s T.S Brown and Co Montreal Canadian trade token... During the research it looked like the family was dirt poor! House was valued at 300$ and their personal property 50$
