    Battery replacement for Excalibur II

I'm seeing this at maxxpacks. Would need the correct charger for them. They advertise that their CH710 charger works but when I go to the CH710 charger it says for Ni-MH / NiCad...

    Battery replacement for Excalibur II

I got one about four years ago and it is holding up well. I got one from Maxxpacks for one of my other excals about 8 years ago and it is still going too but Maxxpacks were out when I ordered from nextbatteries.

    Sovereign Elite coil

The original repair thread is missing. There is a URL to the original repair post in the thread below, but would have to go through the internet "wayback machine" to find it and, unfortunately, most of the times I go to the "wayback machine" for old Findmall posts, the images are gone. Try this...

    Sovereign Elite coil

Short of sending it to Minelab, the cable can be replaced. There are some posts about how to do it. I'll do some searching and see if I can find them to link here.

    Battery replacement for Excalibur II

If you don't hear back from maxxpacks, try nextbatteries ... they have a 1400 mAh Ni-MH pack for the Excalibur listed for $43.50 ... I didn't go far enough in the web page to find shipping though.

    Worst designed water sifter.

Not good if it drifts towards where you are detecting either. With a non-metallic sifter you can dump a scoop into it then wave the detector over the sifter to see if you got the target into the sifter. Won't work with that one. Appears to be a sifter made by CKG and not RTG.

3rd Day of Beta Beach Program Testing and Thoughts on the upcoming Beach update.

Any in water experience? How does it handle waves (does it sound on the water movement) and how does being fully in salt water affect response to deep targets and ability to run high sensitivity?

    Another water hunt pays off

I've found some beaches like that too. Can usually see remains of a fire somewhere in the area. Unfortunately the blobs come in at the same range gold does.

    Another water hunt pays off

Looks like people had a camp fire and were throwing their beer or soda cans in it.

Again, my OCD got the best of me. I caved, and purchased a Fisher Impulse AQ.

Here is one hunt that was spectacular: https://www.findmall.com/threads/was-such-a-good-aq-day-i-had-to-post-some-finds.362876/ I mostly run all metal with it but do spend some time running discrimination set where a zinc penny just goes into low tone. That setting also makes nearly all the...

Carbon Fiber Travel Handle Older Sunspot Scoop

Good to know. That did not show in their add that I saw.

I had a belt clip and put the CZ 20 back on a straight shaft so I could flick the discrimination switch with my thumb from Auto tune to disc 0 and back. If you keep in in one mode, the belt mount does make things easier to swing, in the water too.

Deal on new CZ3Ds from First Texas

With all due respect; my understanding is that Felix retired after a long career. Yes, Felix was excellent with respect to customer service. I have had very good response to an issue I had with a detector after Felix's retirement; all is not lost.

    Seeking Opinions

I have not used a Legend. I like a CZ on the beach. The way I run one is all metal (auto tune) with a just audible threshold. Can either dig all so as to not miss any gold that might be there; or when over a target, flip to discriminate 0 and listen to help identify the target. Keep in mind that...

    New Nokta PI

It is supposed to be water proof to at least wading depth. Other than that, I haven't heard much. Apparently it is taking a little longer to release than originally expected. I hope the time is being spent to get it right and not deliver something that will need a lot of updating to get it...

    Beach hunting shoes

I wear socks too. Prevents blisters for me.

    Beach hunting shoes

I like these. Very good arch support, they keep the sand and shells out and hold up well. https://www.nrs.com/nrs-atb-wetshoes/pqhc

Deal on new CZ3Ds from First Texas

Great detector at a very good price. Ergonomics are not as good as the best of some of the new designs on offer today, but for depth in many conditions a CZ is hard to beat.

Carbon Fiber Travel Handle Older Sunspot Scoop

I wear NRS ATB wetshoes ... good arch support that I need, foot protection in the water, keeps sand and shells out pretty well and solves the foot slipping off the scoop issue too.

Carbon Fiber Travel Handle Older Sunspot Scoop

Try CKG scoops. They have a carbon fiber travel handle that should work. It is not sealed on the ends so water will fill it and it won't float ... but it should allow you to take the handle apart to fit where a non-travel handle will not. Looks like Coob scoops has one too.
