One Red Cent

Got out this morning just after sunrise and did about a 3 hour hunt just after high tide. It was nice to be down on the beach while it was still cool and there were lots of targets today, mostly junk of course but enough coins came out to keep me happy and I did get a ring which was totally...

    Tiny gold

Went down to the beach for a couple of hours this afternoon and got a few coins including a U.S. quarter, plus a silver ear-ring and a tiny 22k gold ear-ring with stones. Nice fun time out.. Here's the loot

    Short hunt at noon today

Went down at noon for low tide today and hunted for an hour or so. I'd have stayed longer but the sun is wickedly strong, but even a short hunt is fun and I was happy to get a few coins and a nice big .925 silver ring. Here's the loot

    From this morning

I got down to the beach early this morning and hunted for a couple of hours. Got a lot of the usual trash plus a few keepers, including a nice .925 ring which made my happy. Here's the loot.

    Morning Silver

Took a spin down to the beach at dawn this morning and hunted for a couple of hours as the tide came in. Lots of pull-tabs and other junk plus a nice count of coins. Best part of the day was when I got home and checked things out. I found the "brass" tag that I'd dug was actually a Tiffany .925...

    Slow morning

I got out at dawn and got an hour or two of hunting in as the tide came in. The beach here is pretty sanded in so I ended up with a pile of pull-tabs and other light targets and not many keepers but it was still a nice time on the beach enjoying myself. Here's the loot

    Another stroll on the beach

Today I took my sovereign out for a try on the beach. Had a good walk and got lots of junk targets, also met up with a fellow named Steve from Maryland using an excal. No jewelry today but I was pleased to find a nice ka-bar knife in excellent condition. <img...

    Silver and snakes

I went down to the beach early this morning and did my public service of digging up every pull-tab, bottle-cap and bit of aluminum I could find, and while tidying the beach I managed to get a few dollars worth of local money plus a U.S. nickel and a nice little silver ring. All in all a fun day...

    Morning wander

Got out early for a wander down the beach my dual-field today. Hit a lot of pull-tabs, bottle caps etc but perseverance paid off with a handsome 10k chain and Egyptian style charm. Got to love time on the beach

    First day on the beach

Down at our condo again since Saturday I've been busy with minor repairs, seeing old friends and the usual running around but today I grabbed the sov. early and headed down to detect. I kept it short as I am still pale and don't need to start off with a sunburn. Still, it was fun to be out...

Night hunt on a toboggan hill

Got out tonight for a few hours on a toboggan hill in the dark. It was a nice quiet time, too quiet actually since the targets were few and far between. But it was fun to be out swinging. First good target was this $2 coin... Then a bunch of...

    A bit of snow bling..

Got out today after a dental appointment and hunted a toboggan hill for a couple of hours. Not a lot found but it was sure nice to be out swinging the Deleon and enjoying the day. Here's the loot for the day... Can't wait for spring..

    Out for two hours..

Got out for a couple of hours this afternoon and hit a few old coins and other odds and ends. The two silver dimes really made my day, especially the 1907 King Edward one. Here's the loot for the day. And a close up of the Edward dime. HH all

    Out in the snow today

I headed out for a few hours hunting in the snow today. It was a decent day with no wind and a balmy -5 celsius so I took advantage. The ground was frozen up pretty good but by standing on my lesche shovel and rocking it I was able to break into the ground. I only got a few targets but had a...

A short but good hunt today

After getting all the running around done for the honey-do list I snuck out for a couple of hours in the cold. The ground is freezing up quickly so digging even with a shovel was tough going but it paid to be out in the windy freezing weather. I pulled a few real nice oldies. Here's the loot...

    Got out today

Got up this morning and decided to escape the dreaded honey-do list. So, grabbed my sov and headed into the city. Made a stop to help out a guy who had lost his keys and left him happy with them in his hand after a 40 minute hunt in deep grass along a rail line. Then headed to the woods. Not...

    Water Hunt Today

I got in a nice water hunt today. It was a bit cold with frost on the ground when I headed out but the colours of the leaves and a bright sunny day made it fun to be out. There was a strong wind but lots of targets kept me busy so I didn't notice the chill, I was too busy.. Got a good amount...

    Luck in the frost yesterday...

John-Edmonton has already posted about this hunt and yep it was frosty that morning. I got to the lake about 40 minutes before John and had a coffee while watching the frost melt in the sun and drip off the roofs. There was a nice cut in the shore from a storm with a few targets in it but best...
