    Afternoon hunt today

After sleeping three hours when I got off work this morning I headed out for the afternoon to hunt a local beach. I was using my sov Gt today with the s-12 coil on it. My second target of the day was a nice heavy 14k men's wedding band. Got to love a hunt that starts of like that. :) Several...

    Afternoon hunt

I took the Deleon out for a spin this afternoon and got a few odds and ends including a nice 1943 V nickel and a 55 silver quarter. Other finds included an old nickel-silver fork, the remains of a jack-knife, an old cartridge and a tiny lipstick tube. It was a fun afternoon out relaxing and...

Out today to a few spots...

Got out today and did a bit of land hunting at several spots. Managed a fair bit of clad and a tiny silver ring. It was a good day out. Here's the loot....

Took the Deleon for a quick test run today

The Deleon is working fine again. Tesoro's service dept does great work. I didn't find much but had a fun few hours poking around a park on the south side. Got 3 more sex tokens to add to the bag-full. They are getting to be worse than pull-tabs..

    Deleon is back..

Got my Deleon back from the docs at Tesoro today. As usual they not only repaired the issues I listed but also recalibrated it to the coil and, most amazing... They got it back to me in just a bit over two weeks from when I sent it in! Also, I have to say I greatly appreciated receiving an...

3 From a walk this afternoon

Went out for a short walk in a local nature preserve this afternoon, the mosquitoes were horrendous. I could hardly stop long enough to shoot anything but did get a few decent ones.

    3 Crusty Rings

I got out yesterday to a local lake that is highly alkaline. Had an enjoyable afternoon wading around swinging the Sand Shark and although the signals were very few and far apart I did manage to dig 3 very crusty old silver rings by digging signals that I wasn't sure were even there at first...

    Got out today

Got out and did a couple of old parks today. Got a lot of pennies from the two parks including a few old ones. Four were U.S. wheat pennies. Nothing else very special except that I dug a cheap lock on the north side of the city then moved to the south side where I dug up a tiny key that worked...

Out for a bit after work today

Got out for a few hours after work today and hit some parks I was sure had been hunted before. Targets were few and far between except for pennies of course... But I did get a few dollars in clad and a 1960's Esso key fob. plus other odds and ends. All in all a fun time out. Here's the loot....

    Out popping clad today

After being up most of the night dealing with a minor flood and water getting into the basement I called up John to go detecting. He suggested a lake hunt but... I'd had enough water by then so we headed out an popped clad at a local sports field. Not a bad day at all, got lots of coins, a lead...

    Darn rain

I headed out to hunt today and of course as soon as I got a good distance from the truck and started finding things, the light mist falling changed to a downpour and I got truly soaked. Not much found, but then I was only out about 30 minutes. The knife was down quite a distance under a tree...

    Playing with water

While in Miette I spent some time playing with shots of flowing water in the small stream that runs through there. Here are a couple of the shots... It was fun, I definitely hope to try this kind of thing again.

    More mountain scenery

I am slowly getting through the shots I took on the trip to Miette resort in Jasper National Park. Here are four more mountain scenery shots. The first was taken from the main highway in Jasper and the last three were taken while walking around admiring the scenery on a rainy misty day in...

Cool...didn't know there was a photography forum on here.

SO.. I'll toss in a few from a trip last week. One taken from the car while driving through Banff park. And three taken from a pull-off on the Icefield Parkway between Banff and Jasper.

Two Edmonton guys hit the lake yesterday

John dropped over early yesterday and we loaded up my truck and headed out to the lake. It was a scorching hot day so spending it shoulder deep in the lake swinging my Sand Shark was a great idea. John pulled in two nice gold rings and a 10 dollar paper bill that floated by, while I couldn't get...
