    I got my GT yesterday

I put it together and it sure is a handsome little guy. It isn't as heavy as I thought it might be. Some of the post's said they thought it was heavy, I think it feel's pretty good in the hand. Can't wait to get going this spring. I charged the batteries and am reading the manual for the second...

Do you guy's use a grid pattern?

How many of you prefer to grid out an area and want to know if you got everything. I'm not sure I want to know if everything is gone from a area. I know, you probably can't get everything due to a bunch of thing's, but I kinda like the feeling that a random of search of a park will leave a few...

David from Dixie a good guy

I bought my first ever Minelab from David from dixie metal detectors. I had a good experience buying from him. I will definately give him my future business. He worked with me to get me the thing's I wanted rather than a bunch of stuff I didn't need. He threw in a Minelab digger in the deal but...

    OK,I gotta ask

Exactly how slow is slow when sweeping with a GT? My XLT say,s 2 second's from side to side. That's fast for me. Also, will the GT null out if you sweep too fast? I think I read that here someplace. Thank,s

I ordered my new GT from David at Dixie

I got a 8 inch coinsearch coil and the mod's that David does and a couple of other thing's. It will be shipped at the end of the week. David is a great guy to deal with and very helpful. He had a Civil War show this past week-end but still found time to answer my e-mail's. I highly recommend him...

    kit meter for GT

I have been looking at a GT that has new meter that the seller referred to as a kit meter that goes from 0-500. What is a kit meter ? Is this the 500 meter that people refer to? I think from reading on here that most people prefer the 180 meter. Thank's and good hunting.

    pinpointer's

I have to confess, I have a pinpointer but never use it.But after everything I have been reading about the GT and the depth it get's, I think it might be a good thing. Is there a big advantage of, say a sunray probe verses a hand held one? I'm not sure I want to attach something to the shaft...

slow working machine's ( by that I mean you don't have to whip it around to get the depth). How does the SE compare to the GT for depth? Which one is more user freindly? Thanks Good hunting.

    GT depth

How would the GT compare to the XLT in full disc or even at about 50%? Some example's of find's and depth's would be appreciated. Also, is using the 180 meter that people refer to a giant step in helping to understanding the GT or is it one of those nice to have thing's? It look's like it could...

    GT depth in full disc.

What type of depth could I expect in full disc? I ask because so many people mention the learning curve on the GT. I want to be out looking for the deep thing's, but I don't want to hinder the ability of the machine to reach a reasonable deep depth and at the same time I want to make the...

    replacing my xlt?

Well, I registered a year ago but I've been just been lurking here reading and watching. Hope you don't mind. I've gleaned a lot of good info here, and here is why I've decided to ask questions. I started detecting in 1976 using Whites old CM4 machines and later the coinmaster series but I...
