    One at a time...

That's the way it seems to go with me and the silver coin finds up here in Washington, but I'm not complaining because at least I'm getting silver on a consistent basis! Did another quick hunt today and came away with a '57 Rosie and '24S wheatie to boot (too bad it wasn't a D, would have been...

    It's Barber time!

One of my goals this year was to find my first Barber quarter, and today was the day!! A 1907 O, to be exact. I gave the Lord a big thanks for this one! The coin read +37/38 on my screen in coin mode and was somewhat of a choppy signal. It was down about 6" and unfortunately my lazy digging...

    Now it's a silver ring!

My short hunts have really been paying off lately, and by short I mean half hour to an hour. This afternoon I hit an easement just up the street from where I found the 1950 Rosie and came away with a nice, thick .925 ring with what I believe are 4 small sapphires! Came in at +38 on my screen...

    Now it's a gold ring

Well, a 10K gold filled ring anyway. Stopped by for about 45 minutes at the same old park where I found my '61 Rosie on Monday, and nabbed this United States Army ring. Strangely it rang in at a solid +39 and I thought I had a big silver coin, but its base metal isn't silver. Looks copper, but...

    Squeeked out another one...

A 30 minute hunt today produced a 1950 Rosie in an old easement. This time the values were jumping all around but the +38 value was consistently popping up so I just had to dig. Across the street I got yet another Washington sales tax token. I have a feeling I'll be digging lots of these up here...

    Safari got another one...

silver dime, that is. Short hunt yielded a '61 Rosie in nice shape. About 5" deep, registering +38/+39 on my screen. Also got a neat good luck aluminum token. On the back I think it says: "I LOVE KATE DYKE DOES SHE LOVE M" Also one 1940s wheatie, several clad quarters and dimes, and an eye...

    Silver ring

I've found lots of silver rings with my Tesoro Silver uMax, and I've been wondering when I would find one with the Safari. Well, finally got one the other day in an old easement that I've been eyeing for sometime. Wasn't very deep, only about 4" and found in coin mode with ferrous tones. Ray

    Another silver with the Safari!

This time it's a 1911 Barber dime!! Went to an old spot today where the dirt had been scraped twice, and this beauty was stuck in a dirt clod on top of the ground. I knew it was a coin right off the bat just by its tone. This is my second silver found with the Safari, and both times I had it...

Safari owners: where have silver coins come in on your screen?

I know where silver coins should come in at on the display screen, and I'm not a novice at finding silver coinage, but I'm wondering if perhaps silver coins might at times come in at lower numerical values on the Safari depending on the ground and how they are situated in the dirt, and that I...

    Question on Safari operation

Hi folks, Well, I'm getting used to my new Safari. So far I like it a lot. Haven't run over any silver yet, but I am learning to recognize the tone of a good signal more and more, even when in all metal. At first I was confused by all the different tones but after some practice I'm picking the...

    First test run with Safari

My Safari arrived today and after setting it up I took it out for a test run. The tones drove me crazy at the first two sites and I found it hard to pinpoint. Went to my third spot and after 5 minutes got a solid repeatable signal at 37 in coin mode and this time I was able to pinpoint. Out...

    NiMH Batteries for Safari/Explorer

I had read a couple posts here regarding AA NiMH batteries but can't remember from which posts I read them. So I'm asking folks if they could post here the different brands they use in their Safaris and Explorers. I'm asking for myself, naturally, as I'm about to receive a Safari, but I'm sure...
