Need more cleaning on these Indian head cents

I understand now. I don’t see a shallow N or triangle trumpet on the E. Thanks for that printout from your book, it’s very interesting.

You did well, with those keepers. Very cool digs

I have never heard of the N variety. Here is a photo of the reverse. The obverse is smashed right on the last number of the date so mine is a guess of the last digit.

Good day for me at two different spots

Yeah, difference between the two is the age

Good day for me at two different spots

I was lucky enough to find an 1874 British half penny, but I could be wrong on the date. At another spot I found a 1939 wheat cent and a 1964 Washington quarter. Bad dirt at both spots but the moist soil helped me hear the coins.

Good day today, I went to two different spots

I was lucky enough to find a British half penny. The date looks like 1874 but I could be wrong. Also grab up a 1939 wheat cent and a 1964 Washington quarter. All coins were in bad ground and the moist soil helped me to hear the tones.

PDH, yeah you’re right. I wasn’t getting silver tones so I went slow and listened for Indians.

Thank you that’s a great idea. I’ll have to buy a box of pencils. Too funny only have pens

No I don’t know about the N. The front is smashed by the date, so it could be a zero or the bottom of a six. Close up photo would be difficult to see it.

I cleaned them up and am able to see most of the dates, there are two 1864’s, one is 1870, one is 1883. Tony NJ

Thank you. So far it looks like two are 1864, two are 1870 and 1883. Still need more cleaning to make certain those are correct

Need to clean these Indian head cents a little more

I was able to heard deep quiet tones and that enabled me to land four Indian head cents. Also got a buffalo but it’s toasted too and falling apart.
