    Looks like a good time

If ya'all do this again next year, put out the notice a little earlier. I would love to make the trip, and would like to put some faces to names. Let me know how this year goes...hopefully by next year I will have a few more things figured out on this machine. LittleJohn

Starting to get fed up with V3i.... when on beach

What they are talking about is using the DX-1 Sunray Probe. When you flip the switch the DX-1 probe becomes your coil. If you are running auto-trac, it senses whatever you do with your probe, which can skew your ground balance once you flip back to your regular coil. As was mentioned above...

    Dx -1 invader

I like the DX-1...it took some getting used to. I was spoiled with the Garrett Pro-Pointer, which I still use with my tesoros when coinshooting parks. That being said, I feel it was a good investment in the detecting "system", as it uses the same batteries that your detector does....and ya...

    v3i/garrett pro pointer compatibility?

very true...and good point Larry...thing is, keep the pinpointer away from the coil....I use a sunray probe now, so that isn't an issue, but ....with the garrett....ya gotta keep it away from the coil of the detector....or it will go bananas on ya. LittleJohn

    v3i/garrett pro pointer compatibility?

.....move the coil away from the hole when you are searching the hole with the pinpointer.....you are talking about the most sensitive detector on the market here....it will pick up any and everything you put near it.....including my steel toed boots....:detecting:

Second oldest find with the V3i....

Took the V3i out for a quick lunchtime hunt. Found a nickel in the sand at a volleyball court, and then headed out to the open fields. I have been using the mixed pro stock program with a few tweaks, as it has really seemed to be very responsive and accurate for me. Ground balanced and away I...

    Saying Hello

Welcome Tim! There are many guys with a wealth of knowledge that can get you on your way with the V3i. The best advice I can give is to read the book on it and get out and dig....learn the machine and you will do well. It is a complicated machine, but well worth the learning curve....I am...
