    Hello from Kansas

If you use an android phone like me, when using your phone to view the site, just hit those three dots up at the top right of the screen on your browser, menu will open from right, scroll down and hit save site to home screen, and it will place an icon on a page which you can move to a desired...

Minelab “The Sovereign” battery information needed

To give you an idea of the Voltage and milliamps, I included some pics of my Sovereign GT charger, and the power source, smart charger that I've used to charge the batteries on the Excal. 13.8 - 15 VDC, usually around 500 mA or less (100mA). Charging time can definitely vary.

Minelab “The Sovereign” battery information needed

These are hard to find, but I found this one for sale in the UK, but might be on feeBay as well. Most ML dealers are probably long out of stock, but you might check.

Minelab “The Sovereign” battery information needed

Good observation, I know these come from China so they're not OEM. 11.1 VDC, yeah, I'd rather see over 13 V after a charge. I know they used to sell the Sovereign Alkaline Battery Holders, as I still use one, but in looking to buy a replacement, they're almost impossible to find. The only other...

Minelab “The Sovereign” battery information needed

If you have a Minelab dealer you could contact them, or you can still find replacements on the internet (feeBay).

    Potential Sovereign user questions.

My favorite coil has to be the Detech SEF 12X10" Butterfly coil. I run an Ultimate 15 on the beach sometimes. The waterproof Minelab 8" Tornado coils were great for a smaller one, but very hard to find anymore.

    Minelab explorer se coil info

I use the same size coil sometimes at the beach, NEL Thunder (141/2" x 101/2"), and do well with it. For years I used the Detech 12x10" Butterfly coil, great coil, but lately run an Ultimate coil for a little more depth.

    Show your SOV pride!

You can look into Stevesdetectorrods, or Anderson shafts, to check for compatibility. The carbon fiber shafts are really nice and reduce some of the weight.

    Sovereign battery pack swollen?

Yeah, I keep staring at the replacement Sovereign battery packs on FeeBay, and wish I could just find an AA battery holder pack, but those seem harder to come by. Unfortunately the tabs get brittle over time and break off. They're around $50, but glad I can still get one if I need too. Same as...

Where did all the metal detectors go.

I guess we were thinking on the same line. I had the SEF 12 x 10 on my Excal for years hunting the beach. I sprayed truck bed liner on the bottom of the coil so I didn't have to mess with the cover. Fantastic setup, I finally moved on to other coils like the Ultimate, and NEL. I loved the...

Where did all the metal detectors go.

I still have my Sovereign GT, Deus I, Manticore, and an Xterra Elite that I just picked up for water use at the beach this year. I'm very happy with them. That SEF 12 x 10 Butterfly coil has to be one of my all-time favorites. I even had one on an Excalibur II. 👍

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

I really do like it, especially with the addition of the carbon fiber shaft, lighter weight and better sensitivity. It's a turn on and go machine, with unbelievable performance for the money (Multi IQ). - 1 iron reject is a nice feature. I've had the unit underwater with no problems. The only...

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

OK, back to this. I received the ML three piece replacement carbon fiber shafts for the Equinox 700/900, and it fits perfectly on the Elite. On the upper shaft, it has a fixed base on the shaft that the Elite pod fits perfectly onto, with the four screws, so the only thing is that it can't be...

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

They mention a bracket on the Nox shaft that the Elite pod locks on to. I have to look into this further. Maybe I can find some Specs.

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

I was thinking the same thing. The diameter of the 700/900 shaft would have to be the same thickness (Y), as the square part of the Elite upper shaft for the pod Cam Lock to lock properly, and when you put a circle inside a square, you'll have real estate on the sides of the shaft, I would...

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

I asked Minelab if there is a carbon fiber shaft for the Xterra Elite and they stated that the shaft for the Equinox 700/900 will work for it. I saw a dealer over in Europe selling the 700/900 Carbon Fiber Shafts, and stated that they would work for the Elite, but I just wanted to verify before...

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

It could be Zinc for all I know. I knew it didn't come with a carbon fiber shaft, and figured it was a heavier material like Nylon or something, but I never thought it would be metal. I love the detector, with the only thing being the shaft.

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

Thanks, I was guessing when I said Aluminum. I'm looking into it. It seems to be a problem with the aftermarket shaft makers that the shaft is of a square shape, when most of their carbon fiber shafts are round. If I had access to a machine shop, I'd probably be on a mill machining a piece for...

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

I'm assuming aluminum. It's cold to the touch, and my Pinpointer goes off on the upper and middle shafts, so it's definitely metal, unfortunately.

ML Xterra Elite Carbon Fiber Shaft

That's good to know. I need the upper shafts as well.
