    First time out with V3i

The TRX has the membrane over the speaker opening. It really makes the TRX weatherproof. Whites doesn't claim it is waterproof but when I was testing the prototype I had the empty case in the pool for ever an hour with no leaks. The membrane can be removed but then you lose the resistance to...

    V3i performance

Gary's simple 2 tone UK settings As requested this is one of my simple to use programmes (english spelling) I use the SEF 10x12 so sensitivity settings may change for your soil or weather conditions or if you are using different coils. False signals : Are the biggest V3i...

    Polar Plot or Sizing

I also don't use the polar plot or sizing. It is the same information we get without using them, just in a different format. I use two search screens but that is the beauty of the V3i. You can do it so many ways.

VX3 and every signal including iron

C/J has tone ID enabled. -95 has the lowest tone and the tones progress higher in tone until +95 which is the highest tone. You have no adjustment control of the tones with the VX3 like you have with the V3i. You either have this default set of tones or one tone. The one feature which would be...

VX3 and every signal including iron

I don't understand what you want? You will hear everything in all metal mode and mixed mode. You can't adjust tones with the VX3, the tones are what they are. Maybe what you want is pick a program, say coin and jewelry. In the live controls choose discrimination and X all the boxes for the 191...

    V3i + Dx-1 suddenly overloading?

JV, I have some questions. What is the signal% reading of the coil you are using at RX15? Which coil are you using? Doesthepinpointer overload with other coils?

Alan, I just said I retired as the official moderator. As of now I still have my privileges so I keep answering questions.

    V3i + Dx-1 suddenly overloading?

I said it probably might be the switch, but it could be the pinpointer coil itself. I've had the coil apart put this isn't the forum for DX1 repair. All the pinpointer is, is a small coil and switch. I'd call Ralph at SunRay. You know it is the pinpointer.

    V3i + Dx-1 suddenly overloading?

First find out if it is the pinpointer or coil. Run it with and without the pinpointer. Do the coil test. Sometimes the connections are the problem but if it is the DX1 it is it's switch. The V3i runs a higher signal% with the DX1. I sold my DX1 and use the TRX. The Sun Ray Invader DX-1 has...

    Loss of Tracking

Some people have reported losing the ground balance while digging a target. Many problems are caused by an improper G/B. The Autotrac system expects to see some amount of ground signal; when you lay the detector on the ground such that the loop is tilted upwards, there is not enough ground...

    Filter Question

Ground Filters The ground filters are adjustable between 5 Hz and 12.5 Hz typically the lower filter should be selected for slower sweep speeds. There are also adjustments between band pass and high pass filters. For areas that have high electrical noise interference a band pass filter may be...

    V3i possible problems

I owned an MXT for years and it is a very good detector. A V3I can be run just like an MXT just leave it in C/J or relic and never change anything but gain and disc. The V3i just will allow you more options to finer tune the detector. Simpler isn't better and neither is single frequency. There...

    V3i possible problems

Clarence, setting the V3i for a particular coil has no performance effect. This just makes the depth reading more accurate. If you actually did a Master Reset it would wipe out all your programs and set the V to factory specs. Is this what you did? We need to know your settings. for instance...

    V3i Pin Point Problem

I have never seen anybody run a bigger number for all metal then the number of the Disc. All metal doesn't filter the signal so it is deeper. Usually the all metal is somewhere from 15 to 20 numbers lower than the disc number. Daddy, I said you probably didn't have a real target. For starters...
