    V3i Pin Point Problem

When in mixed mode or stereo mixed mode the all metal needs to be deeper than disc. I never said higher (number), I said deeper.

    V3i Pin Point Problem

There is not really a target. When I hunt in stereo mixed mode, if I hear a disc channel hit and no all metal channel it is a false signal. Of course my AM is set to be deeper than my disc. Center these hits and dig to prove what is there if anything to yourself.

Gold Coin VDI'S & Dominant Frequency...

Probably some but they are rare. Look how many gold coins are in the Indian head to quarter range and guys hunting for 35 years have never found a gold coin. I know I never found one. I also know guys with detectors that dig all positive signals and have never got a gold coin.

Gold Coin VDI'S & Dominant Frequency...

Size, shape, alloy, orientation, are some factors. There is no way to tell it is gold until you see it. For every piece of gold in the ground, there is a piece of non gold that will match its readings. In the early history of the Spectrum people thought they could ID gold with the analysis mode...

    New V3i on the way!!

I'm not sure how much difference you will notice. If you accept the ground range, but have the audio set to zero, you will still see VDI's on the screen. If you also reject the ground range, you won't hear anything different - audio will still immediately go quiet on the rejected range, but the...

    New V3i on the way!!

Magic's program is really the Hi Pro program. He used of 70 instead of 65 for the base threshold which makes no performance difference and his own tones which again makes no performance difference. He used zero tones for unwanted VDI and a 5 tone for iron. He also rejected the ground range of...

    vx3 Coil Selection Question

If you could change the user interface the VX3 would have all the V3i options.

    Mixed mode

If the discrimination sensitivity is high enough to hear it and you don't have it discriminated out. If you had pull tabs disc-ed out the all metal would see it but the disc channel wouldn't.

    Mixed mode

OK you asked about Mixed - Mode not Stereo Mixed Mode. In mixed mode, the all metal channel will sound for a target until the signal is strong enough to trigger the Discrimination mode then you hear the discrimination tone. If the target is too deep or small you will only hear the all metal tone...

    Whites Battery.. anyone used these?

They work great BUT, they will not make the detector see more or deeper targets. All they do is run longer, and stay charged even when left for weeks.

    vx3 Coil Selection Question

A more accurate depth reading is not a bell or whistle. Being able to change print size and color might be considered a bell and whistle. Remember you don't have to use all the extras. Learn the performance features first. That means learning what will happen when you change one of them.

    V3i Sensitivity (old link)

I'm on the road. If the signal is 40 percent then 60 percent came back to the MD? It doesn't work that way. The signal% only tells you how much further you have to go before the detector will overload.

1964 Quarter found today, V3i Going back to whites for repairs

Must of the time all that is required is to reseat the connector ends. Just incase this happens on a trip all will not be lost.

    Ear Bud

Wired buds will work.I don't like ear buds, but that's a personal preference . If you decide to try a set, try to find some with a decent cord. Most won't last long in the field all it takes is one snag.

V3i made a funny sound then shut down

Auto Power - OFF – ON recommended. Turns the Spectra OFF automatically if no controls are used for a specified or selected period of time. Left ON during storage, draining rechargeable or alkaline batteries to absolute zero will result in damage to the battery and/or battery holder, and may...
